Running of the Bulls.

On my Physics trip to Great Adventure yestureday, I experienced my first running of the bulls. I was the leader of a crowd of about 200 people running towards Superman. The funny thing was Superman was having some technical difficulties. The ride opened like 20minutes after ten so i got the first ride of the day in the front row. I'm so going at 9am every time now!

Except that the park opens at 10a. :-P

If you get there at 9 or so though you get a good spot for the 10:00 AM rope drop.

So essentially you are waiting an extra hour for the ride, or like for this running of the bulls you waited one hour and twenty minutes....

True, Bob, but he isn't "wasting" an hour of park-time... ;)

At both GAdv. and SFNE, I've never arrived before 9:45a and I've always been very close to the front for the rope drop. Admittedly, it wasn't opening day or anything, but I arrived at the park at 9:45, the day. after S:UF opened (it was a half day the day before, and it went down for good in the middle) and calmly walked from the rope to the ride (after it had dropped and people had gone running everywhere) and still managed to end up on the first public train of the day in the back row (which I would've thought would've been the first seats taken in the entire park). The train dispatched half empty. Where all the countless people that had sprinted before went, I will never know.

I've walked through the gates at 10:15 and waited 30 minutes to ride. One hour and twenty minutes just isn't worth it to be the first rider of the day.

Number of coasters ridden: 233

I didn't ride it at all yesterday, I figured I would get on it enough tomarrow. Plus, All the southern coasters (Bull, Viper, Demon, Eagle) were being dispatched w/ 1/2 empty trains!
Haha...that reminds me of my Physics class trip to SFoG on 5/9...it was so cool. We got there early, and they let us take some instruments on different rides...we got to take a gravity tube (a plastic tube with balls in it) to see how Superman's gravity functioned during the pretzel loop. Then, the ride ops let us do some tubes on Acrophobia, which was a blast. There was hardly anyone there, so we got some rerides in. Something priceless about hearing your physics teacher scream like a girl on Acrophobia..:)

That's weird. I thought since you go so much you would be there for the rope drop. I have gotten the first ride on Nitro two years in a row in the second and thirs seat and I won the run to Superman a couple weeks ago. Superman's run is longer than it seems.

You waited an hour before they droped the rope? That stinks...I managed to win the running or the bulls when getting there at 9:50. But whatever floats your boat go for it.

SFNE doesn't have a running of the bulls. A security guard guides everybody to S:RoS' entrance in a neat line. :(

Same with Titan at SFoT... Anyone who tries to run or cut in the line gets sent to the end by security.
That's no fun! ;) I've seen and participated in many running of the bulls, but nothing matches the all out sprint from the Magnum gate to TTD on opening day. For some reason (and on that day I wasn't complaining) CP let everyone through the turnstyles and stopped them in the tunnel underneath Perimeter Road. We couldn't really hear the national anthem in there so some people started singing it (pretty painful) so the guy would let us go, but no dice. Most times you get most people just kind of jogging, but that was actually an intense race! :) There was a TV crew filming it along the side of the midway. Let's just say everyone was screaming and waving as they went by, but no one stopped for an interview! ;)

It would be more impressive to do that for TTD. ;)
