Runaway Ore Cart Missing at SDC

When Missy and I visited SDC this weekend, we were shocked to find the Runaway Ore Cart was completely missing. It was there when we were at the park last month. I hope that it comes back as it is a fairly popular ride with the kids.
These pictures show what the Ore Cart's lot looks like now.

Also something interesting about American Plunge. The first show tunnel has been caved in. This picture shows what the tunnel looks like now.

Any ideas?

What is happening???? They can't take away Runaway, that was one of my favorite rides!!

As for the Plunge, no idea, maybe they are updating it and putting in a new 'course.'??

Hmmmmmm.
You may have just given me the missing link to a piece of artwork I saw the other day.
If I am correct, then, expect to see the cart reopen with a new theme.

Never mind, ore cart is not being rethemed. Sounds like it MAY be entirely replaced, though. more info when available.

Maybe they are adding a new kiddie coaster to replace it. Dollywood is getting one, so maybe SDC is as well.
Well they do take the entire ride out every few years to do a complete refurb (it is just easier to take it completely out). However, I have also heard that they may be getting a newer kiddie coaster. Sounded to me like a rollerskate, which would be a good family coaster for that area. However it might be going back behind the Carousel and the area where Ore Cart was will be used for something else, like a petting zoo. Things aren't confirmed yet mind you.

Swoosh! Complete refurb of a CLASSIC children's coaster=good, removal=bad.

Please inform SDC of my "considered opinion"...;)

Bill - I will be sure to tell them that. I know that your "considered opinion" has a lot of weight on what goes on in that park. LOL.

Rumor Mill Time: There might be another "storm" hitting a HFEC park soon.

Huricane Fury at White Water???? Yes!!!

Haha, just joking... But should I be excited about this new storm swoosh? Or are you just making that up?

Nothing is confirmed yet, but lets just say that the same storm that hit Tennessee might hit Missouri as well. They were really happy with the results that they got in Tennessee.

I assume this storm would be hitting in 2006 to combat the bird of prey hitting the Kansis City area that same year? ;)
Probably.... I guess I kind of remember hearing that a large storm was building and might be here by 06 or 07, so I guess it is semiconfirmed now, better prepare.

The storm won't hit until 2007 at the earliest. They want to ride out PowderKeg for at least a couple of seasons. The name for WOF's inverted hasn't be comfirmed yet, but I would say it is reasonable to think that it would be themed to a bird of prey. Any ideas of what an Oriental bird's name would be as that is where it is going.

Oh and speaking of PowderKeg, check this out.

the flying crane as seen in this picture http://www.tigerandcrane.com.au/photos.htm

Maybe "Crouching Tiger:Hidden Dragon The True Experience" would work.
