Roundup: New attractions around North America

In Orlando alone, four of the area's big parks -- Disney, Universal, Legoland and SeaWorld -- have opened, or are about to open, new attractions. Cedar Point in Ohio unveiled a new roller coaster a few weeks ago and in Las Vegas, a $50 million water park debuted on Memorial Day weekend. In California, visitors to Disneyland can meet all the Disney princesses in one place. Elsewhere in the Golden State, four different parks boast new roller coasters.

One new ride that wasn't mentioned happens to be in Newsday's backyard. "Bootleggers Run" at Splish Splash.

I have never been on a water coaster and I am really looking forward to riding this one sometime during the summer.

Three new wooden coasters this year (CGA, SDC, and Fun Spot). Only one gets mentioned, briefly. Wood coasters are the American tradition...

Canada and Mexico, as far as coasters are concerned, got a recycled Python Pit and a recycled spinner from SFDK, respectively. Not too much worth mentioning...
