Have any of you noticed the jerkyness/roughness on Raptor? It isn't real bad, but it is starting to get a bit jerky. Especially the last turn into the last brake run!
The transitions are quick in the front and back seats, but I wouldn't call it rough.
Well, except for the spot the rail cracked off the tie at the bottom of the first drop, but hey, that was a repair for just the last day of operation. :)

That last turn has always been very agressive. *thumbs up*

I'd have to disagree on Raptor being rough, ya, a few parts, such as the ending double helix, and *maybe* the cobra roll, depending on where you sit. I wouldn't go as far as to call it rough though.

Welcome back riders, how was your ride...Enjoy your day, here at Cedar Point, America's roller coast.
Yeah, I was looking for another word for rough other than jerky but it didn't quite work out that way......lol.
I did notice a "jerky" train on Raptor this year at Millennium Mania. I think it was just one car's coupler, though. It seemed to be on only one train, and I didn't notice it at all closing day. Probably just a wore out bushing or something.

when i rode it in 2000 it wasent rough but very intense i did hit my head but only twice, once going into the cobra roll and in the last turn into the brakes. But i noticed while waiting in line for it that alot of people seemed to have the same proplem in the last turn, all you would see is everyones head shift left then right real fast, i supose you call that head banging but it wasent as bad as when you wacthed as say batman and robin the chiller with harnest.

That is what I noticed too MrMightyMouse.
I t gets a little jerky in the cobra roll if your sitting in 8-4. And yeah Ranvenguy, I always brace myself in the last turn.

I never really noticed anything on the final turn, but the cobra roll certainly is a headbanger (jerky transitions). As for the ride itself, smooth as silk.

My other car is a Giovanola!
Thw last turn is a doozy, I thought Alpengeist's whip turn was bad but Raptors just flings you around, but not rough. Raptors has a lot switch overs, Alpengiests Cobra Roll is still more snappy.

Overall the ride is very smooth. I would agree that in *maybe* a couple spots it is slightly jerky, agressive, whatever you want to call it. But I think it's a good thing to have a few jolts here and there.
I disagree with the terminology. I think there are weaknesses to any coaster, but Raptor has very few that I can find. I would suggest to stay away from the ride only if you suffer gray or blackouts easily. It is a very intense coaster and the transitions are just that... intense, not rough.
Yeah, that turn right before the brake run knocked my head around a bit, but other then that it wasn't too bad.

Just wait till next year!
Raptor is a very smooth ride to me.

When I mentioned a jerky car, I meant a forward-to-backward lurch, like the cars were catching up or slowing down to find the end of the coupler, like a loose trailer hitch. I've really never noticed any side-to-side jerkiness on any B&M invert. And if someone knows of "rough" one, I'm curious where it might be, because it's unique!

The last turn into the brake run is the most jerky transition I have ever been in. Heck, it makes my no limits coaster's look smooth.
Count me in the group that doesn't think Raptor is rough, but LOVES that ending transition into the brakes. I laugh every single time. :)
I noticed this year how much more I liked Raptor than last couple of seasons. I've always loved it, but this is the first year I liked it more than Magnum. Maybe the paint job had something to do with it?
