Rotor rides still in operation?

It’s better known for its Laffland ride, an extremely rare, original Pretzel dark ride. It’s from 1954 and sits virtually untouched with the same vintage cars and stunts it was born with. Lights-off as well as lights-on rides are available on YouTube and you can practically smell the musty interior through the screen, lol. Sylvan sits near the top of my amusement park bucket list for Laffland alone. Sometimes I’m grateful if a small park either misses the chance for or doesn’t have the money for renovations. They’ve (perhaps inadvertently) kept the original experience available and in the meantime they’ve realized what an antique they have.
I’d take a long look at that Chance Rotor and might even pay to climb to the top, but I doubt I’ll get on it. There was a time though…

This park is definitely on my upstate NY tour, if I ever get around to it (delayed by a pandemic, you know).

OTOH, that website rings almost every bell for terrible website design, including a wretched song that autoplays and repeats, even as you navigate from page to page, and lack of a basic navigation menu anywhere except the home page.

Also their season pass is more expensive than Cedar Point's, although in fairness they may not charge for parking.

It's been a while so I thought it was time to resurrect one mine and RCMAC's favorite threads.

This video showed up on my algorithm yesterday. I would love to see some of these installed and would absolutely travel a reasonable distance to show some love to a park that gets one.

Here's a good POV. It looks like they've added a safety feature to the edge of the floor to avoid the gnarled toes the Chance model was known for.

The plexiglass is a cool visual but there's no way it's comfortable to be crushed against a hard surface like that.

I rode the Roundup at Great Adventure last summer, for the first time in 40ish years, and was surprised it wasn’t more of a Code-V experience. Rotor seems like it might be more problematic though.

The first one in the States is at Casino Pier

I rode this at IAAPA it was my first time ever on a ride like this, and it was so fun. It was rather comfortable for what it was made of, but my only complaint was that it was too short of a ride.

Counting down the days until I'm back at Cedar Point, the one and only place to be.

Makes sense. The shorter the ride time, the less likely someone will cause a protein spill. These kinds of rides are pretty intense too. Too long of a ride time might be uncomfortable.

Looks good, I've ridden several of the Chance Rotor's over the years. Much preferred them over the Wisdom Gravitrons.

If the ride doesn’t keep going until I spew, I’m not interested.

Ah, innuendos abound in that post.

Or should I just say giggity!

hambone, that reminded me of a good memory. I took my cousin to Kings Island, then twelve years old, many years ago. I had awon a VIP experience, so we rode many coasters twice in a row, in a short amount of time. About halfway around the park, he got sick after riding FoF and threw up in a garbage can.

I was worried about him, and suggested we sit for a while and recharge. He pulled his head out of the trash can with a huge grin and said, "What fun is that?"

And we continued to Racer, Adventure Express, and Action Zone.

Coming back to the discussion, has anyone here ever rode the now removed Rotor that was at Kings Dominion? It was an interesting concept. It was inside the mountain, and had a light show. I saw the commercials when I was a kid, but was too young to ride it when we went to KD. I think I was about five years old.
