Roto-shake strands two women in Japan

Two women left dangling 30m in the air on broken amusement park ride - Mainichi Daily News

When will the other parks learn that there was a reason why these rides have recently been removed from the US parks that once had them?

According to the article the operator had to run the ride in manual mode just to get it down for unload, good thing this happened in a Japanese park & not SFA though...otherwise their wait to get down would've been 2 hours rather than a mere 30 minutes.

Ya...Knott's Berry Farm's Hammerhead was a maintenance nightmare as was Six Flags America's Iron Eagle. The only Roto-Shake left in the U.S. is at The Park at MOA right?

Didn't Knoebel's have one of those at some point? Maybe wrong.

Thats sucks, but luckily no one was hurt. Anyone who has operated a ride loves manual mode lol :)

Knoebels had a Mixer, not a RotoShake.

I can't help but think that being kept out of the elements has helped MoA's ride's longevity....alot.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Uh, NO?

They removed the fountain and some paths in the center of the park for Avatar (Intamin Half-Pipe), the Iwerks simulator and some of the stores for SpongeBob Rock Bottom Plunge (Gerstlauer looper).

I just rode Mighty Axe in September... It's definitely still there.

It was there at the end of July when I was there, but was down. :-(

For some reason, I don't think it will be there next summer with after the new remodel.
