Rolling Thunder

Whoa factor Danny?

What about OMG my collarbone and two ribs just cracked factor. Granted the twist and dive is cool as hell but restraints are what makes the thing so horrible. It's the most pain I have ever experienced ona coaster (Iron Wolf is very close).

That sounds a lot like your favorite coaster, you are just a glutton for pain I tell ya.

Viper is a good coaster to me. It is one of my favorite coasters of all time. I just love how intense it is. I guess some people like to be thrown around a bit, like me, and others will take the smooth ride anyday.

Viper....I used to defend the coaster on the grounds that it didn't hurt me THAT bad, and the T-n-D was pretty cool....I even had it rated above ME after getting the front seat torture on the Vegas Togo....

Then, I got another ride (possibly my last) on Viper....holy headbanging Batman...the kick to the left side of my neck left me dazed, but not so much that I failed to notice various other painful moments....now, I'll take Manhattan (Express)...;)

bill, likes it rough *to a degree*....not to THAT degree.

P.S. Great White, from MY rides, was about 1,000,000X better, and smoother, than RT was even when RT was "good"....

There is a difference between "rough" and "agressive." Agressive = intense. X is agressive. Coney Cyclone is agressive. Goliath's helix is agressive. HW's Legend is agressive. A Top Scan is agressive.

Rough, on the other hand, is excessive and needless headbanging, shuffling, and jackhammering due to pour design and/or maintenence of track and/or trains. Hercules is rough. SOB is rough. FoF w/ OSTRs was rough. And SFGAdv's Viper is rough.

Got it?

I like rough and agressive as long as it's fun too. SOB, Vekomas, Viper, FOF with OTSRs,... I'll take them and enjoy!

-Danny, doesn't find The Legend to be rough or agressive, but it still packs a fun punch... like Space Mountain =p

See, to me rough is not fun...ever. I'm talking rough by my definition, of course. Agressive is great, which is why I love Coney Cyclone, SFNE's Cyclone...rides that make it difficult to keep your hands up.

But you're young, Danny....let's have this discussion in 20-some years when you're 40 and I'm 60....I'd be willing to bet you feel differently.

I bet I'll feel differently too Moosh. But for now while I can have fun on those rough rides (I actually didn't even think SOB was rough except for 1 out of over 100 rides), I'll keep riding them and they'll have a reason to keep some of these "Cult Coaster Classics" operating.
