I agree.
Colossus at Magic Mountain is pretty good also.

But I kinda find it funny that, back in '76 Colossus was THE ride. It was what everybody wanted to ride. It was the tallest, the fastest, the greatest. Now you have this huge orange and teal steel structure right next to it that makes Colossus look tiny. And I'm just thinking, could the same thing happen to Goliath?
Gemini, American Eagle, and Corkscrew at CP.
I'd have to give my nods to Shockwave at SFoT, and Greezed Lightnin' at SFAW. Both being Schwarzkopf creations, they're running great.

I'd also like to think that Texas Cyclone, being 25 this year and having those awful coffin headrests taken off, if finally giving great rides again.
All of the Kennywoodies are 20+ years old and are still among the best in the world. Some other choices of mine would include Coney Island's Cyclone, PKI's Beast, and CP's Gemini.

How bout the old phoenix? Built in 47, then closed for a few years in the eighties, then moved halfway across the country in 85. Now it's in it's 16'th season at knoebels and it's 4th on the top list of woodies and still runs better then most woodies when they're brand new.

Good luck in philly j.r.
the BEAST, in wood it the best of the best, and over 20 years old.
Gemini, Beast, and practically every one of Anton's fabulous designs. (We miss ya Anton!)

Mindbender at SFoG is 23 years old and ranked 17th on the list. This ride is still great. Most coasters now still don't pull the Gs this thing does. And with only lap bar restraints, this one is definantly a classic. Its a tribute to how well Schwarzkopf designed his rides.

I agree completely with that :). I almost must mention the Swamp Fox at Myrtle Beach's Family Kingdom. It is around 47 years old and still operates very smoothly and still has the traditional lap bars. It even survived a hurricane in 1990 (?) I believe, although some work was done to get it back into shape.

I think that Screamin' Eagle has held up pretty nicely. It still has a lot of airtime, although it is kind-of rough.

Coaster Thrill Ride in Puyallup Wa. 1935 ACE coaster Classic. Great ride, and a blast. Keeps you in stitches despite its age. Come up to the Northwest!

;)Rollercoasters are like parrots...if you take care of them, they should outlive you;)
The KW Thunderbolt still packs quite a punch!
Mindbender is the best steel coaster in SFoG.....and the oldest one that made the Golden Ticket list. Great coaster. Oldies are indeed goodies :)
Thunderbolt at Kennywood.

SLFAKE, I read the question as meaning what coasters that are not already classics will be so in twenty years. Looking at the original post I misread it as 'what coasters will still rock' not 'what coasters still rock'. Classics that have been around since the twenties don't need to be mentioned, they've already achived their status.
Adding brakes is a cheap stop-gap method of maintaining a ride, the proper, though costly thing to do is refurbish or correct design errors.
Definitely The Beast
