Very well done... there's a video editor in you!

One suggestion though... you need to use something to deinterlace the video. That's why you get the horizontal lines in there, because the interlaced fields in video are about 1/60 a second apart from each other and create that "tearing" you get.

You'll also find that using QuickTime even with the Sorenson basic codec will get you smaller file sizes than MPEG, not to mention be more compatible with different platforms.

Hey, Kraken was pretty good. I cant wait to see more!

Women was god's second mistake.

I have to think an Mpeg is more portable than anything with Sorensen, which is the codec That Cannot Be Licensed.

Is the background music in the Hulk video the station music? I don't remember it very well, but it reminds me of it a lot.

A rollercoaster? What's that?

Actually, the background music is Crystal Method whereas the station music is UNKOWN. I sounds quite similar, but not the same song.

Sorenson is found in the Windows and Mac version of QuickTime players. MPEG codecs may or may not be on your machine depending on the software you have installed. And the point stands that quality vs. file size you're much better off.

I should know... people pay me a lot of money to encode video.

The link isn't working anymorre. I think the sites down?!? That sucks cause I really want to see the Incredible Hulk.

I'm wondering how you get such small file sizes with the Sorenson codec, Jeff. My vids end up about twice as large when I encode to quicktime using Sorenson (or Sorenson 3) versus the file size when I encode to .mpeg or .wmv

They end up at roughly the same quality, I just can't get the file sizes on the .mov files down as far and keep the quality.

Also curious as to what camcorder was used to record the footage, it's much better than the on-ride stuff done with the little sony digital camera.

The link is indeed not working. I'm guessing it's a bandwidth issue. Offering up 50MB of high quality vids will eat up 65GB of monthly bandwidth in just 1300 downloads.

I'm just glad I found the music videos on Saturday night :)

EDIT - It may not be a bandwidth issue. The host's entire site is currently not working.

The site is back up now. The camcorder I used on these vids is a Sony PC110. It is a true camcorder whereas my onride videos were with a standard camera that takes MPEG clips.

Cool thanks for the info!

Great videos by the way :)

How do I get Sorenson clips small? A whole lot of tweaking in Cleaner, and using the pro version with variable bit rate helps a bit too. I do get smaller files with Windows Media, but that comes at the expense of "softness" in the image quality.

If I remember to, I'll see how small I can get that big MPEG of Hulk down to when I'm home tonight.

So Moby and Crystal Method aren't on the fringes of being techno?

What does it matter if it's techno or not? It's hard to make a coaster flow with Classical music (which I've heard a request for once before). As I state on my site, I put the songs to what I hear when I'm riding the ride.
Really! It's his site he can do what he wants to. I find techno sometimes annoying.. so it's nice to see videos without techno.

I meant the third video, You Spin Me Round.

Jeff,

Did you get around to messing with the size of the videos?
