Rollercoaster Rabbit!

The new "Vista Series" DVD release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? includes the three Roger Rabbit shorts that were made after the success of the movie.

One of these is "Rollercoaster Rabbit", where Roger and Baby Herman go to a "State Fair". *HIGHLY* recommended for anyone who's a fan of coasters (us) or animation.

I forgot about that! I remember seeing it in the theaters. Didn't it play with Dick Tracy or something?

If that's the case, that would explain why I didn't see it. Dick Tracy was one of the more forgettable films that I've seen. Thankfully I waited for video.

Take a ride...

Forgettable for sure, but it was hyped up at the time....I remember a huge McDonalds promotion with it. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what it showed with. Dick Tracy was a Disney film, right?

Yes, it was Dick Tracy it played before.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it dozens of times but always pick up on something new.

Too bad I already bought the original DVD that has no features whatsoever. :(

I remember Dick Tracy as the first really over hyped summer movie. There was even some promotion where you could win a T-shirt and be one of the first to see it at a midnight show... like anyone really cared.
As for RollerCoaster Rabbit, WDI once had a whole section of MGM planned that would've featured an actual roller coaster inspired by the short. Would've been awesome.
Oh, and Jay Rasulo (new head of WDI and Theme Parks, former head of EuroDisney/DLP) wanted to build a version of tower of terror based on the Droopy elevator scene in Roger Rabbit.

Ah, the cool things that never get built.

Den, included with the Vista Series version is a coupon for a $5 rebate if you already have the earlier DVD.

I'm only a little upset that they didn't provide the same deal for those of us who bought the CAV LaserDisc! ;)
