I recently created my own water park/ coaster park in roller coaster tycoon 3, and it was very weird that guests came pouring into the park from the get go. I have 4 different pool areas in my park. 2 large lazy rivers, a large funnel slide, 2 water coasters, and 12 slides. I also have at least every coaster in the park you can think of. The most interesting thing is, that I have almost 4,000 guests in the park, and a park rating of 1000.
The only thing I find annoying in the game, is the VIP that I created. It's joe slugger ball, and even though the park has a 1000 rating, he hates it, and wants to leave just after walking through the gate. No ride is good enough, and even though his target area is a pool, he goes in them, and turns around and walks right back out. I took him and put him in the middle of a field, and he just vanished, with a message saying you have failed to impress the VIP. It's too bad you can't drown people in RCT3. he needs a good drowning!! LOL!!
I have also become pretty good at building the rotating tower coaster and the tilt coaster. I know there is actually a real tilt coaster. But is there actually a real rotating tower coaster? The other coaster of interest is the robotic coaster. I build almost all of the coasters in my parks myself. I enjoy it. I also build great river raft rides. Usually water rides are really low in the guests favorite, but mine are in the top 3 out of 50 rides. Two of my river raft rides are listed as the guest favorites with over 350 guests each.
Though I also have coasters with over 1,000 guests listing it as a favorite. The weirdest is my looping mad mouse coaster as the top ride, beating out two hyper coasters and an inverted coaster. Those are usually a favorite. Yet there is one coaster that nobody seems to like, and that is the B&M flyer, though they love the kind built by vekoma. The flying coaster always seems to have a low excitement rating, no matter how crazy you make it. Never above 4.
I also have one question.
Has anyone built a coaster that the game would not allow you to finish? I built one, and I was down to the very last section of track, and it just showed up as red. I also tried to use the magic finish feature, and it danced all around, and said cannot connect. All it would have taken was on straight section of track, and it would not complete. I thought the land might be in the way, but lowering it did nothing. It was a really cool coaster too. Is it possible that you can build a coaster that is too long for the game to handle? I took some sections out back in the main part of the ride and made it shorter, and it connected in the same spot where it would not connect before.
Still a fun game, and the graphics still amaze me.
I didn't do it! I swear!!
This is a gem :)
Anyhow, I still Play RCT 3 - the only computer I could play this on that runs decently in the iMac. I have not encountered the completion issue that you have seen. Perhaps you did indeed reach the maximum length of track allowed. I also have a park that is filled with different coaster types, but the guests love the stupid wild mouse the best. Still a decent game.
I've gotten my 6-year-old daughter hooked on RCT2. I set up a scenario for her with all the rides and scenery she likes, but I turned off money because I don't think she's quite ready for that yet. She likes to build huge 5x5 towers of water, which would absolutely annihilate her funds otherwise!
I showed her how to see through rides and shops so she can spy on guests peeing on top of each other in the restrooms. She likes that.
