Roller Coaster Technology

As we have seen many different forms of coasters poping up, they all still have their problems. Is the focus of roller coaster inovation going all to the ride experience or keeping the rides from having to be shut down? I notice that the newest coasters such as Deja Vu, Nitro, and The Chiller, + others have been having MULITPLE problems. Is it because coaster are getting more complex? When will we have a coaster that is 90% reliable? (100% is more than a dream)

When we get another CCI ;)

Anyways, Nitro isn't having problems from new technology, it's the same as AC andn RB. Something is just messed up on it, but probably not something new.

Deja Vu count this season: 1, but thats still more than most other people who've been to SFGAm this season!

Well, when you talk about a large, complex piece of engineering like modern coasters are....there are bound to be some bugs to work out. Especially with a brand new one. The biggest problem with Deja Vu is that Vekoma has yet to come up with any viable solutions.

Of course manufacturers try to build enjoyment, safety, and reliability into their multi-million dollar machines. Their reputations......and consequently their future prosperity.....depend on it. You keep building faulty coasters......parks aren't going to want your product. It's the whole supply and demand principle.

what problems is nitro havin? anyways, its the same with everything. no matter what it is, it looks good on paper.when it comes into the real world though. problems arise. coasters are no exeption

If your really evil in this life, do you come back as toilet paper????
ladies and gentlemen, due to an increase in line jumping, people caught cutting in line will no longer be ejected from the park. u will be ejected from the ride

Nitro always gets stuck half way up the lift and Medusa's brakes keep locking up so the train can't get through. I think Deja Vu is a big problem cause it's happening to all the Deja Vus. I would think coasters would be like software. With each new one or updated version one you fix the bugs. A coaster like Nitro, which is the 3rd of it's kind plus has a similar lift hill to other B&M coasters, shouldn't have problems like lift lock ups and power shortages.

CHRIS....i cant believe you cant spell multiple....GOD...look at my post about how much coasterbuzz sux!!!!! its great!!!!!!
I think it's interesting how most if not all of the problems occuring on these rides are due to computer glitches/problems. It's not often that you see a ride go down because of mechanical problems or broken parts.
