roller coaster quiz!!!

What's this I don't buy that crap. Were you there when the Intamin guy was taking readings??? Were you? No, you weren't.
I just did a research paper on this very topic, and will back up Jeff in saying that there is NO government regulation to limit the amount of G's on roller coasters in the U.S.

If representative Edward Markey of the House Commerce Committee gets his way, there will be, but I doubt that happening anytime soon. Especially since the media couldn't feed the fire on this subject like they could last year. I bet if those 4 deaths hadn't happened in the same week last year, there wouldn't have been much publicity on roller coasters and their "dangerous" ways.

Soggy is right in saying that Taz' Texas Tornado pulls 6.5 G's, but only happen for about 1/100 of a second.

One of the greatest sources I came across on the internet for this subject was an essay written by Emily Jenkins. Here is the link:

I recommend everyone to read it.

Intamin does not build coasters in all 50 states, thank you. If they spoke on some show this summer, most of us working must have missed it. Send me the link. Some states must have testing before a ride opens. That is a fact. Period. This is a discussion for ride engineers and state inspectors.

Note how fighter pilots have to go thru heaps of tests to qualify. They experience up to 12Gs i.e. turning around in 500' at 500mph! I've blacked out for a couple of secs on the Thunderbolt douple looper at Dreamworld. It pulls about 5Gs, then again it shakes so badly its hard to see the track in front of ya!

Coasters - The Ultimate Creation!
There is no limit of g forces that a manu. can put on a ride. It depends on the person. Some people can't handle 2 g's, while others can handle up to 7 g's I can handle 5 g's, but anything over that I don't know how I will handle it.
I agree. That is why they make sure that everyone comes back in one piece. This is one thing I do not know enough about. But it,the "G" is measured for some reason, and people are saying that at certain times that is a good "G", and that is a bad "G". I would rather talk about fun stuff in a park. I am a manager, not an engineer.
So, William, what is the answer(or in your case, the wrong answer)?

Yeah! What's the answer? Can I buy a vowel.. uh, I mean a clue.

Coasters - The Ultimate Creation!
This first coaster loops were circular, and pulled 12 G's while the Air Force only required their pilots to withstand 11 before passing out.
In that case you wouldn't want to go land diving in New Zealand. The natives there attach creepers to their feet and the other end to a wooden plaform which they jump off - the ancient form of Bungee jumping. The board snapping is all that stops the native from going splat! They thump onto soft dirt sloping away from the natural tower.

It is said they exceed... 100Gs!!!

I forgot, they jump from 100ft or so.
