Roller Coaster Designers?

I am looking to get my degree in Mechanical Engineering, and become a Roller Coaster Designer, but I have some questions about the proffesion. Are there any Coaster Designers on CoasterBuzz who would be willing to exchange E-Mail with me and answer some of my questions? Or, does anyone know any roller coaster designers, or design companies who could answer my questions?

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters
I would email the sites of the companies, and ask for an engineer to part with what the average credentials are. Nothing beats experience however.
The IAAPA website is a good resource also!

You might want to look at getting a copy of the book "The Fantastical Engineer". It covers all different aspects of theme park and entertainment engineering. It also has an up to date contact list of current engineers. The Thrill Ride Gift Shop has it for sell if you want to look at it.

Yeah I just read that Saturday night from 11:00 to 1:30 in the moring. It a very interesting book, and is a must for any future coaster designers like myself. (I hope)
Yeah, I actually ordered that a few days ago... It should be coming any day now
Another great book is Roller Coasters, Flumes and Flying Saucers, available from the Thrillride gift shop. It is the history of Arrow, but mainly focuses on the Disney parks becoming a reality, along with the evolution of rides through the 60' snd 70's. It also highlights the guys that developed the corkscrew loop. Long live Bacon and Morgan!

Before you send an e-mail to any company make sure you send it through Spell Check first.

Have a nice day!
