Roller Coaster Checks?

Has anyone found Roller Coaster themed checks? I've looked and am amazed I can't find some.

Thanks!

They probably aren't in high enough demand. I'm sure there is some somewhere.

Whenever this topic comes up around here I point people to the Versacheck program (do a search for MIPS Versacheck)

It's a program that lets you print checks. You just buy the software and purchase the blank check paper as you need it. It's inexpensive and if you have even a remote ability with a graphics program, you can make some really nice looking checks. For a while I made extra cash on the side selling people checks with pictures of their kids, their pets, their cars, whatever on them.

Of course you couldn't sell coaster checks without permission from the parks, but there's no reason you couldn't make a stash for yourself to use.

That Versa checks program stinks! I threw mine away! It's just a totally a big waste of money.

there's also a site that advertises personal checks imprinted with pictures you send in. Can't remember the site, but a simple search will get you there.

I stand by my previous comment. Versacheck will give you impressive results if you have 3 things:

1. Some good photos to start with.
2. Skill with a graphics program such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.
3. A good printer.

A program is only as good as the person using it. So if you're missing one of the above "ingredients" then you'll probably be unhappy with it. I made more money than I care to mention by offering people checks with whatever they wanted on it (supply a photo, get some checks) and I was charging $20 for batches of 150 of these "custom" checks. This was 4 or 5 years ago before everybody had a computer and the novelty and quality was enough to keep people coming back. I haven't used the program in quite a while, but maybe I'll make a few coaster checks just for fun.

I'm just curious as to why stoogemanmoe found it so useless. The program can be had for under $20 - I still think it's smart for anyone wanting their own custom roller coaster checks.

Because you can't get plain white check paper so the pictures actually show up on the checks. also I had a BIG problem with banks accepting the checks. I have an exceptional printer. The check paper was colored which caused any and all photos to come out terrible. I really find it useless til they come out with better paper, and the magnetic ink for my printer. I have the Xerox Phaser 8200 printer too. It's also a pain in the butt if you want to have duplicate checks and there is no way to bind the checks together to form books. In other words if you're a clumsy fool, you'll have checks the look like crap and be very unorganized. It's a useless program. Find someplace where they can make and bind the checks professionally.

Fishy is talking about www. funchecks.com. They are very professional, just like what you'd get from the bank.

Touche, stoogemanmoe! Pretty valid points. I agree on the magnetic inks. That'd be a huge plus. The binding never bothered me, however I don't use many checks and have no need for duplicates. I still disagree on image quality, I got great results.

I took a look at the funckecks.com site and am less than impressed. I still think better quality can be had from Versacheck assuming you don't mind the few hassles that stoogemanmoe pointed out.

Finding someone who can print "official" checks and give good results will probably cost a bit of money just for the novelty of having a roller coaster on them. To me the cost outweighs the product. I'll stick with my Simpsons checks.

Funny, I thought about Roller Coaster checks when I was looking to order some recently. designerchecks.com had a check design feedback topic so I suggested a RC design. They probably would require several suggestions for the design before they actually made it (hint).

Thank you all for the information. Maybe one of these days I'll try to rally a professional company into something.
