Roller Coaster Cars

Have cars ever derailed in the history of roller coasters??
I think the Mindbender derailed in that mall in Canada, I feel really stupid that I forgot the name of the mall...

Big Bend at SFOT derailed once. Sadly, it was removed in 1978 (opened in 71).

I believe that the incident with Mind Bender actually involved the car body separating from the undercarriage while the undercarriage remained on the the track.

King Cobra at PKI did lose a wheel shortly after it first opened resulting in a partial derailment that put a few people in the hospital. I had planned on riding it the next day.

Any true train is unlikely to derail completely since there are many holddowns lockin it to the track. Even if one fails the others will keep the train mosre or less on the track. A complete derailment of a train would require a major failure of the track. A derailment would be more likely on a single car ride such as a mouse.

The Demon at SFGAm lost a wheel and caused it to derail and get stuck upside down in one of the loops. Thankfully everyone survived and without major injury.

What is life without it's ups and downs

I heard about the Demon incident but never knew what caused it. Also, somewhere on the web there is a list of coaster accidents over the years -- anybody know the address? They have some good ones, like one time when an employee let a woodie go through three sets of brakes and it flew off the track and into the management building. Dunno the details, but it would suck to be the park manager that day.
Anyone have more of a history on this Mindbender accident?
It is on the TLC porgram: On the Inside, a look @ the largest mall in the world
