I love that movie!! It came out soon after the Revolution was built and it opened up a whole new world for me.
I remember seeing it in the theatres lots of times (though it just showed for three weeks).
I was ten years old and the Sensurround effect combined with the povs just blew me away. None of my friends wanted to go with me, they thought a movie about coasters was boring. From that moment on i dreamt about going to SFMM (which i finally made 13 years later).
It used to run in german TV quite often, and today i even love the boring bits. All that seventies suburban life/divorce/quit smoking thing is just so funny. The Sparks are in there and the REVOLUTION just looks so sexy. The whole movie just SCREAMS for a remake. Theres so much potential in amusement park chains/managment and rivalry, plus the coasters and digital SFX could make a mind blowing film. But then i think that lots of my friends would consider a film about rollercoasters boring....
