Rollback congratulations to Tom Rebbie!

Just thought I'd mention that...:)

Hope they have a nice cake for Tom Rebbie at the PTC headquarters today. I've been lucky enough to meet up with him at a few events. He's a great guy running a great company, and has been a real friend to the enthusiast community over the years. Congratulations, Tom....hoping 2004 is as successful as can be....:)

I have a similar story. I started working at a video store in 1994 for $3.25 an hour. However, I never got that raise I wanted, so I quit 6 months later.

Not quite so inspirational, I guess. ;)

Not bad, considering he makes less than $5.00/hr!

I've often thought of applying at GCI as the trashboy/janitor, maybe someday I could move up in the rankings a little... ;) Seriously though, I only live about 20 minutes from GCI. :)

Isn't that illegal?

Technically yes, but they got around it by offering "benefits," which meant two free rentals a day. Whoopty-crap.

Come to think of it, I freaking ran that store.... took care of all the money, opened and closed, added the new products, cleaned the store after closing, etc. I should sue. Too bad it's out of business now...

Go figure a business that entrusts its operation to an employee that gets paid $3.25 an hour went under. ;)
Yeah, and on top of that, the real reason I quit is because the owner (not the manager) put me on the 4-8p.m. weekend shift only. And the reason he did that was because he came into the store one night (I didn't know him) and I didn't smile at him. Idiot.

I would've told him that smiles cost an extra $1 per hour ;)

May the Schwarz be with you.

I worked on a farm for minimum wage (which at that time was $5.15/hour in NJ - higher then most states). What the farm didn't realize when I was hired was that farms are exempt from minimum wage laws for people younger than 18. They eventually discovered that and dropped my pay to $4.75 - AFTER I was hired and working for a week.

The worst thing is I actually stayed there for a year.

millrace, you had it easy. My dad was a farmer, so I worked on a farm for NOTHING. :)

Well, at least you had the video store to fall back on. :)

Exactly who is Tom Rebbie? Is he the CEO of PTC or chief designer or what? I'm not familiar with the actual people at the company, but their coasters on the other hand...mmmmmmm! Oh and what did the congratulations on the rollback mean...is it his birthday or did he just not make it over the top on TTD?
