Roll Back Data Base Item "The Hershey's Sign..."

Just tying the past and the present together (and also some recent "turmoil" here in central PA).

Today's Roll Back Data base lists an item for 1909 about the Hershey's signing a deed of trust and establishing the Hershey Industrial School.

Fast forward to 2002... according to local news reports, it was announced that the Board of the Hershey Trust has been reduced from 17 members to 11 members. 10 members (the ten who voted in favor of the proposed sale of Hershey Foods) have been removed from the board and 4 new members (more local members) have been added in their place in hopes of keeping the make up of the board more "local".

Radio reports from Monday also said that they were considering doing something with the restructuring that would give Hershey Foods and Hershey Resorts and Entertainment (of which Hersheypark is a part of) a voice in future actions that the board may take, however that was not mentioned in today's radio report.

(I didn't submit this to news as it is kind of hard to post a link to two stories I heard on WHP580 radio over the past two or three mornings. However, since the Roll Back item was posted as having an impact on coasters / parks, I thought yesterday's action also is worthy of a mention)

-----------------
Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

Thanks for mentioning this. It's reassuring to know that the Hershey Trust will have a greater percentage of local members, and it woul be nice if Hershey Foods and HERCO had some input into the Trust's decisions.
