Rockin Rollercoaster..How is it?

WED (WDI these days) are resonsible for the design of the Thunder Mountains - they did the track layout and whatnot, with Arrow (Vekoma for Paris) engineering and fabricating the rides. I've only ridden the WDW version, but it was no rougher than you'd expect a ride themed to an out-of-control mine train would be. It is hardly smooth, but that's not the angle they're going for.

I found, on both days that I was at Disney-MGM recently, RnRC was down for more than half of the first day and down for all of the time I was there the second day. Whether this is normal, I don't know, but it seemed to me that it's a bit of a gamble as to whether it'll be operating or not, which is a shame given that it makes up half of the major rides.
