Robin side of Chiller opens to the public with lap bars

The Robin Side of Chiller at SFGAdv opened this weekend after 10 months in hibernation. The coaster follows the lead of the Premier LIM launchers at Paramount's Kings Island and Paramount's Kings Dominion which opened this year to rave reviews with lap bars in place of over-the-shoulder restraints.

I just rode the Robin side of the Chiller and what was once one of the worst rides in the park (not counting that LIM accelleration in the beginning - that's always been great) is now one of the best. The improvement must simply be experienced to be appreciated. The ride is faster, smoother, and better than it has ever been - without an ounce of pain. Also, going upside down without a shoulder restraint is amazing. Six flags saved this ride. Incredible.
I went to Great adventure today 10/21 and rode on the chiller with the new lap bars. I like the idea of going upside down with no shoulder harnesses but for a tall person its a tight fit under the lap bars. I am 6'2" and by no means fat but i was barely able to ride this coaster, I had to struggle to get the bar to click one more time down before i could get the saftey belt to buckle. I found it to be very uncomfortable to say the least. I liked it better with the old harnesses
Its Amazing!!!
