Roadside Coasters

x-flight is a good 100-200 feet away I'd be more worried about the parking lot

Actually X-Flight is quite a bit closer than that.  After driving down that road so many times because of it being my home park I have noticed many times that it is very close to the road.  Same with S:UE

SFOT is right next to a highway! So not sure what would happen.

True.  It is amazing to me that there are not more accidents on Perimeter Road at the Point, especially driving by MF, MS, and driving under Maggie.  You often see people pull over near MS in the gravel area to gawk and take pictures.

IntaminFan,

While not the most travelled road, Rt 743, the road that LR and Roller Soaker sit along side of, is pretty well travelled.  Granted, not quite as much as Hersheypark Drive and Rt422 (which it connects), but it still sees some pretty heavy traffic at times.   One thing though, while it may be heavily travelled, the speeds are not like those on the open road.

Yeah Wahoo, I ussually get into the back of the truck for pictures on Perimeter Rd.

Krakenm x-flight and sue come to mind when i think of rides that are close to the road that i have been on
Kind of related...but not exactly:
I was on S:UE in the station getting ready to dispatch and then everyone in the station all jumped to stand on something because an accident had happenned right there on the road that runs by it. Police and ambulance came, but it was just nothing too bad.

Meanwhile, we just sat there strapped in, not knowing when we were going to be launched.

Just an update. I took a look at Hersheypark's coasters over the weekend.

Like mentioned above, Roller Soaker and Lightning Racer are positioned very close to Rt.743.

Add to this list Comet and Trail Blazer.

The 1st turn of Comet is very close to the road the connects 743 to Hersheypark drive (the one that parellel the rail road tracks and then comes out between the park/arena/stadium/chocolate world complex and the new Giant Center. Some of the support braces for this turn seem to be practically on the road!

Trail Blazer has its first little turn out of the staion very close to 743.

Not sure how close they actually are, but sooperdooperlooper and Great Bear are also pretty close to the road (again, the one that Comet sits on). The lift hill of looper and the section of track from the mine shaft parallels this road, as does parts of Great Bear (however, with a fence, trees, and rocks there, not sure exactly how close these coasters are to the road. Are they that close, or just look that close?)

Dont forget about Valleyfair. Wild Thing and Excalibur are dead even close to highway 101. Everytime I go to work I always see people slow down to watch Wild Thing train go down the first drop same with Excalibur and people also slow down to watch people riding rip cord plus Power Tower. So far I havent seen any accidents but it will happen eventualy. I think coasters shouldnt be placed by busy inerstates or highways because they could cause accidents when people are slowing down just to watch.
