Still planning my California trip for the week of the Nov 2nd, and had a question for anyone from LA.
What's the best way to get from Anaheim to SFMM?
I will be staying at the Disney Land Hotel and need a little help with directions.
Thanks!!

Both the Disney Resort and SFMM are on Interstate 5. However, depending on the time of day driving I-5 is not always your best bet.
Can you be more specific with your plans?

The easiest way, barring traffic, is straight up Interstate 5. Disneyland, etc. is right on the freeway in Anaheim and SFMM is right on the freeway, north of L.A., in Valencia. Depending on what time of day you go, the trip could take up to 2 hours. There are alternate, longer routes which could save you time especially if you are going northbound during peak morning rush hour, but only if you can use the car pool lane (2 or 3 per car).

'Moosh - you beat me to the punch - but our thoughts are the same!!

Another thing, about how long is the commute during that time of the day?

5,605,60,101,170,5
22,405,5
Katella, Willow, Sepulveda, 101, 405, 5
Traffic, traffic, traffic, traffic, traffic, traffic, traffic, traffic.....
EDIT: Saturday morning? Early? Just take the 5 north.

Actually, some one is dropping me off at SFMM, so there will be two in our vehicle. Looks like i could use the HOV lane you mentioned.
Is traffic really that bad on Saturday mornings in LA??(sorry, I'm a first timer!!)

Donny - at 8am on a Saturday morning traffic shouldn't be bad at all. Its LA...you'll probably encounter a little but nothing to worry about. Stick with Interstate 5 and you should make it from the Disney resort to SFMM in a little over an hour. From Disney you can use the HOV lane but it ends a few miles north at the 91 freeway. If you're really worried keep your radio tuned to either AM980 or AM1020...both are news stations with traffic reports every 5 min or so.
Moosh
PS - Boblogone, you forgot my favorite "shortcut": 5, 91, 605, 105, 710, 10, 101, 170, 5...LOL!

I think he means AM1070, but then I might be wrong about that on a Saturday.
Shortcut, pffftt. Take 5,605,210,Angeles Crest hwy,Angeles Forest hwy,14s, 5n. Twisty.

Donny, let's just say that on the "good" days, LA traffic is a nightmare....on the bad days, it's just pure, unadulterated, HELL....
bill, waited 35 minutes about 1/2 mile from SFMM, a truck overturned on I-5...lucky I got through as fast as I did...could've walked faster...;)
Hell Moosh I'm not worried. I'm more worried about getting my first spin on X !! (Crosses fingers , twice for you Gator!!) plus I refuse to let myself get stressd on vacation ,
Just curious because I know absolutely nothing about the Area.
One more question, what will traffic on I-5 be like that night, don't want to be waiting for my ride to pick me up forever you know!

well i can tell you this past Saturday traffic on the 5 from Orange County heading north was hell and for the times I've had to drive that route it's been miserable. One thing about LA traffic if don't have patience and a sense of aggressiveness you can get ate up in all that madness. But I figure it will take you about an hour & 15 minutes tops. Just keep to the left in either the HOV lane or the speed lane and you should be fine.
PS: keep up with the flow of traffic and watch out for cops as you get close to downtown LA
