My parents said that when they were small, that was one of the best parks in the world. I know there was the "Bobs" and the "Fireball". The sad thing is now a shopping center replaces where it stood.

I have some of riverview books and videos, and there are tons out there. As for a website, i am not so sure. While it is very sad that what was riverview is now a shopping mall and a police station, it is even sadder that it had to shut down before i got into high school. My school was located about 150ft from where Riverview park used to be. I could have gone there during lunch for four years!! What a letdown.
My parents also talk about riverview all the time , it seems besides the bobs it also had some type of mouse ride and also a couple other wood coasters, one was called blue streak or red streak something like that and I belive was a classic allen out and back, I've heard there was a tunnel of love ride, a whip, and a tumble bug. Sounds like a classic type of park to me.
The park had to be torn down because the neighborhood around the park , started to become more to urban, and at the same time the park owners failed to properly maintain the park.
In one of my coaster books I think it said that there were 7 coasters at Riverview. At that time Cedar Point had two Blue Streak and Jumbo Jet and maybe the wild mouse, but imagine how big riverview would be now. With classic coasters too.

My high school is only a couple hundred feet from there. You can see the whole area of where the park was. It's now replaced by a shopping center but it's called Riverview Shopping Plaza.
My dad tells all the time. That riverview park was one of the largest in the world at the time. He loved all the coasters it had in it's history. He also told me about the parachute drop ride sounds fun. LONG LIVE CHICAGO"S HISTORY!!!
