Sad news....anether amusement park has bit the dust. Riverland amusement park(sterling heights,mi) is now closed for good.

The rides are all dismantled and the park has been sold and will soon be a strip mall.

This small park was home to several kiddy rides, a ellie wheel, and a kiddy coaster. other park highlights included consesions, games, water wars and minniture golf.

I am sorry to hear about that. :-(

I was just trying to find some info on the park but of course the park's website appears to be down permanently.

The info I did find said it was a private park that catered to corporate outings. Did it ever have "public" days?

Yes...it had public days on saturdays in july and aug I believe.

I just wonder what is going to happen to the rides, I hope they find a good home.

I hope so too. Out of curiosity, what flat rides did the park have? Were there any rides other than kiddy rides?

Seems like the same situation as Hillcrest Park in Illinois. Mostly a private park with some rides and a coaster.

I am sure Riverland will have an auction to sell off their assets as Hillcrest did.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

They had a swing ride, a carasel, kiddy coaster, and an ellie wheel........they were the only large rides. The rest were kiddy rides.
interesting. I thought riverland closed years ago.

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Hey, I wonder if they will auction off the rides. With it being in Michigan, maybe Michigan's Advneture could pick up some new rides -- hey MIA fans, here's your chance for some "new to you" rides for 2004.
