River Country

I recently got a Wlat Disney World travel guide from AAA and I was looking at the map and I do not see River Country at all on it. They mention both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, but RC is nowhere to be found. So what is going on, is it under heavy rehab, will it just become party of Fort Wilderness or will they tear it down. Just wondering cause when I went to WDW back in 99 I thought it was the 2nd best waterpark only to BB and thought it was alot better than Typhoon Lagoon, just more there and more fun, I even got 2nd in a cannonball contest and the slides that drop off into the pool are really fun. Plus nothing can beat the fun of that zipline. So can anyone give me any info of whats going on?

i believe there are/were plans to make it part of the Fort Wilderness pool...

Does anyone know what month they closed it? I'm only saying this because my family went in January of '01 and it was still operating.

It ceased that spring. The 'industry' word is that the other 2 parks can ahndle the capacity. I like the idea of combining the park into the campground. That is a great selling point. Exclusive use of River Country with all overnite stays. Any Disney folks out there with the suggestion box locations.

I honestly think RC is alot better than TL. its to bad if that is the case, but it does give a reason to stay at Fort Wilderness just for RC.

TL is not the best park, but it has that amazing, wonderful, I can spend the whole day in this thing wave pool. Sand beach, and continius (sp?) huge waves you just cant beat it!
