Hey, I was just wondering about the restraints on Riptide or other Huss floorless top spins (im not sure if all top spins have the same restraints). Are they comfortable, or are they a "nut buster" as I have heard from some? Also, are they anything like the Huss Giant Frisbee's restraints?
Thanks.
Theyre Nut Buster. They are exactly the same as the huss giant frisbee restraints.

Anytime I have ridden a top spin with these so called "nut buster" restraints... or a looping starship for that matter... it has actually been a "thigh crusher" rather than a nut buster. While they are tight, they give a very secure feeling and don't do anything to press on the male genitalia hehe.
They DEFINITELY do more than just "press" on the genetailia - on my first ride ever on Tomb Raider at PKI, the restraint was jolted into my manhood and I literally almost cried. It was the most painful experience I have EVER had on a ride (and that includes when I sliced my hand open on a ride at SFGAd!).
However, since I do like the rides so much, I just cover myself the whole ride and avoid any problems. :)
OMG I have a new sig!!!
All Top Spins do not have the same restraints. The regular Top Spin has a harness, as well as, a backup t-bar paddle (for lack of a better term) that comes down over the harness. The floorless Top Spin only has a harness with two locks. The first lock is the standard ratchet lock. The second lock engages right before the ride cycle. So the seat has your standard hump divider found on most suspended coasters. I did happen to have a testicle pinched by this divider on the flips, but it didn't cause me any pain, and it certainly didn't stop me from getting back on again! This is based on my experience with Tomb Raider Firefall at PKD, the other floorless Top Spin.
"I did happen to have a testicle pinched by this divider on the flips, but it didn't cause me any pain"
wow...the words testicle and pinched in the same sentence just sounds wrong...lol
...and such
I've been on TR:TR and had no "nut crushing" problems. Nor was Delirium a prob. either.
Never had a problem with any of the Huss restraints. Riptide was comfortable and I felt very secure while getting flipped around five times in a row at Knott's. :D
