Riding The Beast Near Closing Time

I have an odd, specific question. Last year when we went to KI, we got in line for The Beast maybe just after 9 on a night when they closed at 10. At some point, they closed the line and ride for the nightly fireworks. I don't recall what time that was, but I feel like we wasted time in a non-moving line when we could have been riding other things during that time, and then could have got in line after the line was reopened (if the line gets reopened) near 10.

So, does anyone happen to know what the latest time to get in line for The Beast is on 10 pm closing nights? I don't want to miss our last night time ride if they do close the line earlier than 10. I'm sure I could always ask a ride op at the entrance, but I like to plan lol

You have to be in line before the park closes, which is the same time that the fireworks start. They don't allow anyone else to get in line after the fireworks are over, but they will cycle everyone through that's already in line. So even though the line takes a while, it's not really time wasted because there's nothing else you could be doing at that point anyway, other than heading home.

That's correct. And maybe you'll be in the lucky spot on the ramp so you can look over/around Vortex and catch the fireworks anyway.

The exception to this is when the park is open past 10, because fireworks still happen at 10, and the ride reopens.

Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.

I'll never forget the old days of riding Beast *with* the fireworks going off. Apparently I'm so old that wood wasn't even at risk of catching fire then...?

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Also if you wait through the fireworks you get the added benefit of an even darker night ride depending on time of year.

The best of all the jokers is clearly Mark Hamill.

Due to the Dinos they had to move the firework pad, unfortunately, this move put the beasts first break run in the danger zone and required them to stop running the Beast during the show.
