X-Flighter, I believe the new brakes are actually in the station.

Double Loop is not getting new brakes- it has the same fin brakes as the new coasters out there.
Double Loop is getting an upgrade- ride ops will no longer have to manually run down the train to lock and unlock the restraints with the foot pedals- they're getting a button on the control panel, or something like that.
Word on the street is a July opening as the trains have been seen publicly on-site (read: not on the track) for the first time this season.

I want to see pictures of the new trains. BTW I don't think automatic restraint release is a big deal. I've seen them to be unreliable. Here at WOF the Mamba has a restraint release system that doesn't work at all so the operators still have to manually open the train.

Does SFwoa have to fix up the ride every 25 years? That's what I heard.

83 coasters in Track Record!! Hypersonic XLC # 100 in July. Waiting for the 305 foot drop tower in 2003. Thank you PKD.
Personally, I don't think it is anything too special. It is fun, but it isn't overly thrilling and it just doesn't do much for me.
Keep on riding it!We don't want it to suffer the same fate as Drachen Fire(RIP), because nobody rides it .
