ride opps and line jumpers

Bottom Line: If saving a spot in a line for other people is wrong - why does everyone do it!?

After visiting several Six Flags parks in the past 3 weeks all the way from the UK, notably SFNE, SFA and SFGA I could not believe how many line jumpers ther were!

I had to stop one and it really cheesed me off as myself and many other people had to wait in line in the heat - about 92 degrees somedays and these people think they can just push in to be with their friends!!

Tough luck. They should wait their turn like anyone else and all parks should get much much tougher about line jumping.

I think in the UK we call it 'good manners' and plain old common courtesey not to line jump. Come visit over here and see, you wont find it happenin as half as much as it does in the US.

Dont dream it, ride it!!
I absolutely love Lake Compounce, but the line for BD is line jumping heaven. Every single time we were in line last year, more than one person "excused" themselves past everyone. Only once did the ops kick them off the ride. One time a guy physically pushed aside our whole group of about 10 when we wouldn't let him by (very dangerous considering the height of the queue). The line jumper also yelled out to his wife that "these a**holes won't let me through". Nice language to use with families and children around. When we got security, all he did was warn the guy. That was bull! He should've been thrown out of the park, no questions asked!

There was no line on our only trip there this year, but we did see a new sign regarding the line jumping in the queue. It's a start but I'm sure most of the line jumpers can't even read anyway.

The parks definitely need to crack down on this problem. They can't have every queue watched at all times, but when you report line jumpers to ops or security, they should do something about it. It also shouldn't be our responsibility to stop them. Personally, I rarely do. You just have no idea who you're dealing with these days.

This year when I was at CP someone jumped line for the Power Tower. They just jumped over the railing on the midway and ran through the grass and got in line. He thought he was safe, but about a minute later the ride op came over and kicked him out!

I will have to agree with you there. When I was in line for Mantis they kicked out at least 12 people from the que line. Even though smoking was bad...but that's another story.:)

"Welcome back Raptor riders. How was your flight?"
I'll line jump, but only when there isn't any line. if the queue is empty and the people in front of me are taking their own sweet time or taking the long way, I'll jump the railings and wait for them.

if someone else tries to line jump I just block up the line and ignore them until they try to push me out of the way. when they push I tell them to get the **** to the back of the line before I get security on their ***** and they're kicked out of the park.

smoking is a big no-no to me. one of my friends is allergic to cigarette smoke and the rest of my friends respect him enough to no smoke around him. when people are smoking in line I yell at them to put it out and question their reading abilities. even if my allergic friend isn't around, there might be someone else in line that's allergic.

this park is not copless so please don't go topless
Smoking in linereally bothers my family. My wife has problems with asthma. on 6/16 while at PKI smoking was horrendous. It was impossible to tell that they had a no smoking in lines policy. It was so bad, that we had to leave the line of King Cobra because the smoking was so bad my wife couldn't hardly breath. When we complained to the employee at the entrance to the line she said there was nothing she could do. When we went to guest services, we were told to fill out a complaint form and someone would contact us. What a joke, we're still waiting to hear from them. PKI couldn't care less about smoking in line or smoking in their restaurants.
When I am waiting in line and there is someone else in the line that is smoking, I'll make it real obvious that it is against the rules and we don't like it. Sometimes I just cough really really loud (although it is fake, sometimes it works) if they are directly in front of or behind me. Otherwise, I'll say to my friend,"Look, the sign says 'No Smoking Allowed'". Or if those don't work, I'll just directly say to them that we don't appreciate their smoking and we will get them kicked out of the park if they don't stop.
from my experience as a ride op it all depends on the day, the ride ops mood, and the number of hours worked that day. I personally can not and will not tolerated line jumpers. I usually would tell them to back back to the end of the line, and if they refused then i would tell them i would have security escort them to the exit of the park. And now that i no longer work in the legalized slavery of amusment parks, when ever i'm in line and a person says excuse me i need to get up there with my friends i tell them "to bad you should have gotten in line with them"
