Zierer is still very much in business. Someone has to be making HW's Wave Swinger right??? ;)
They have a big ad on the inside cover of this months Funworld magazine.

Chris, is HW's really a Zierer? The picture of HallowSwings on their website left doubt in my mind, but for my money they are the REAL swing sets.
bill, adding that the CoasterWorks! DBH is still a FINE ride...
Zamperla manufacture's their own version of wave swinger which is marketed usually under the name flying carousel.
Of course Zierer made the original version and they also offer a larger version, although most are standard 48 passenger models, has anyone ever ridden one of their 64 passenger models? I saw it on the zierer website and that thing is huge.
I'm almost positive it's a Zierer. I will ask the wise Paula just to make sure
Zierer filed the German equivilant to Chapter 11 bankruptcy to get protection from their creditors. Now, they are basically back to where they were before the money troubles.
Gator, of course DBH is still a good ride, GCI retracked a bunch of it this year ;)

What about CoasterWorks! I think they're still making wooden coasters. And didn't Togo merge with Premier? I think I read that somewhere. Premier does offer a Pipeline too, and the pic on their site looks like one from an old Togo.

Yeah,a funny thing on why Zierer filed for chapter 11 protection was because most parks were no longer buying the classic family oriented thrill rides such as wave swinger as well as various other Zierer flats, instead the trend has been for parks to buy the outright thrillers by Huss & Zamperla to provide the parks with more of an intense thrillride & less of a family ride experience so without a demand by the market for their products Zierer was almost forced out of business.
As for the wave swinger itself, nearly every park already has one, with exception of a few parks here & there so soon I expect that there won't be much of a market left for this classic family thriller as far as new installations go.
Other than the Wave Swinger, Zierer's next best contribution IMO is the awesome Jaguar! Happy to see the ACE newsletter giving proper recognition to this UNIQUE ride....it's a cool, funky ride, intersects Monte's loop, gives an overview of the park, is nicely themed, etc. Why DON'T other parks get something like that?
Raptor may rule the nighttime sky over CP, but Jaguar! delivers KBF in a way other rides just can't match...ZIERER!
To the best of my knowledge, haven't been on a Zamperla Swingset, just Chance and Zierer....
Ironic that Zeirer has had financial problems..they did work with Six Flags, ya know....
Guess I missed the one at KG, jp.....must've been preoccupied with my first PowerSurge, the Skooters, the Carousel, Phoenix, Twister, the train ride, the Phlyers, etc., etc. Downdraft did make me a bit queasy, though... Oh, and the Birch Beer...we gotta get back to Knoebels! Wishing I could've ridden the Spiral Slide...
edit: the best-named shoot-the-chutes ANYWHERE, maybe we'll get to ride at next PPP if global warming continues...;)
As far as working with SF, it DOES seem to be a double-edged sword...

I like the Zierer kiddies a lot more than the Vekoma Rollerskaters (which I don't find all that great). Those long trains make me laugh. :)
