The B&M discussions have brought up an interesting thought for me...at least TO me...LOL! I've noticed that my "preferred" B&M rides are those located where land area is the most restrictive. I've noted that I'm a positive-G junkie (absolutely LOVED Goliath's helix), and I think that the compact layout makes for more twists and turns in the track...my personal fav Beemers are Talon, Ga. Scorcher, BKF...the B&M hypers get a TON of praise, but for me they're SO smooth that I don't feel the intensity I crave so much...not dissing the rides, more noting a personal preference. I also notice how Roar, CI Cyclone, Phoenix, etc...the "compact" wooden coasters...are among my favorite woodies (Of course, so are Raven, GR..the "spread" layouts...so I guess it's not as big a deal with woodies....)...I DO love 'em all, though.....

Sounds like you prefer twister to out n back. I think twisters tend to be more interesting, you don't know where they are headed, the first ride is always very thrilling.
B&M twisters can be too smooth. Look at RB. I love the ride, but would take a spin on IW or B:TR instead if I could only ride one. The rides are better when they are in a smaller, more confined space. Unforturnatly, those are the only 3 I've been on, so I can't compare them to newer compact-layout rides like Talon and GA Scorcher, but the older ones with compact layouts are built to knock you down with positive Gs, and before you can recover, kick you in the stomach while you're down with more Gs.

Hi! I'm Hungry, whats your name?
I love small twisters. they're so interesting especially if they're hiden. as for B&M hypers, well I can feel a lot of g's at the bottom of Raging Bull's first drop. I don't feel them too many other places besides the tops of the hills with all that lovely air time, but a ride on B:TR or IW will prove to be much more intense because the g's are continous.

Big, small, compact or spread out, I dont really care, just keep 'em twisted! If a coaster only has all right or all left turns, it becomes incredibly boring to me. I love the direction changes and suprises the most, so it should come as now suprise that coasters like The Legend, Raging Bull, Lightning Racer, ROAR, Son of Beast, Gwazi, Kraken, Kumba all dot my *favorites* list

If it's a beemer, it doesn't matter to me what type of layout it is. They all have their different perks. Apples & oranges, IMO.
