Ride Injuries

Has anyone been in or know anyone who has been in an accident and injured on a ride.

A kid I know was injured on Alice in Wonderland in Disneyland. He stuck his leg out of the car and it got stuck between the guard rail and the car which broke his leg. Even though it sucks, it is kinda funny because he was a cocky 15 year old who thought he was invincible and there were signs saying to keep his arms and legs inside the train at ALL times, EVERY 10-20 FEET.

This happened in December 2000, and they filed a law suit in December 2001. I havn't heard what happened in the suit, he probably won't win because it was rider fault, and if he did win, the precedent would be set and EVERYONE would want to get hurt to sew Disney.

I was also hurt on Flashback at SFMM. I hit my head on the restraint and I could not hear for a few hours.

Wow, what poor use of grammar and spelling but anyways, yes my brother hurt his hip while riding Racer at PKI. They stapeled the crap out of him and he had to get a wheel chair that day and go through some intense therapy once we got home.

The closest thing to a accident I have been in is getting stuck for like 10 minutes on the brake run of Twister II. But I don't consider that a accident, just a major inconvience in the rain!

Go AVS!!! AVS will repeat!!!

Stapeling- where the restraint is jammed tight against someone and then some in a uncomfortable position.
Stapeling is where the ride operator pushes the lapbar down too hard so that the rider can barely move from the waist and below. Usually it's just that, being restricted from getting as good of a ride as possible, but I've been witness to where they really shove the bar down on people, it's happened to one of my friends before, a kid who's VERY skinny, and he said that he was sore the rest of the day.

Why do I get the feeling like this isn't something we want to discuss, you know, in the middle of all that 'coasters aren't safe' BS... :)

Never hurt, never injured. We got stuck on SFGAm's B:TR once because the harness would not release in the station (man, we got scary looks from the riders-to-be). Shockwave has nearly blacked me out too, and I won't abstain from discussing that because the faster this ride gets removed the better we're off...

So aside from a few bumps on the head from some particularily rough loopers, I can't really say that a coaster has ever hurt me, and I think that's the way it is in most cases. Coaster accidents are like plane crashes, except that they're much less deadly, and the news anchors that report them don't dedicate the resources (to finding facts) that those who cover plane crashes do...

(Still on soapbox) I remember last year when Titan stopped on the lift, and the riders got to walk all the way back down. HUGE news up here in Illinois for reasons I still cannot comprehend.

I got the wind knocked out of me on a Pinfari single loop traveling coaster dubbed Scoprion at the IX-Center...I've had back problems ever since and I was little and extremely freaked out at the time.

I got thrown up on all over my back by some one sitting behind me on the Superloops at the Colusa County Fair.

My friend's ear started bleeding after a ride on ninja at SFoG.

That is the reason i started this thread. I wanted to prove that coasters are safe by showing that these accidents don't happen often, and if they do they are VERY minor so that if someone were to come upon this thread that was worried about this type of thing they would find out that the chances of them getting seriously hurt are slim, but that it does, and can happen.

Yes I do. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
