Ride Closures

Has anyone ever been disappointed when they went to an amusement park specifically to ride a ride and it was closed? This has yet to happen to me but I know that it is a big problem if you take the time to pay for airfare, gas admission.

VISIT IT!

My first visit to SFNE, Flashback was closed.

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK

I had a near-miss with Top Gun at Carowinds. The ride was closed all day the day I was there, and as I was walking towards the back gate to leave, we passed the ride and it started up, so I got in a couple of rides before I had to leave.

LOL coastingohio should be posting pretty soon about his SoCal trip. (X and Xcelerator were down for him, lol)

Roller Coasters are my anti-drug

X for CoasterCon and Wicked Twister for CoasterMania. Luckily I only live about 2 hours from CP so I can easily go back to ride WT which I gladly did but I'm not so fortunate with X. I guess I'm just going to have to wait to ride it!

What would we all do if roller coasters became non-existent???

I remember about 5-10 times I have gone to SFGAm only to find out Deja Vu is closed. Heck, Deja Vu was even closed on my trip to SFMM.

I don't have good luck with these rides.

Cedar Point 2003, and it begins...

Yes I drove 8 hours to SFGAm wanting to ride DV and Shockwave and they were both down. I was there for two days and on the second day they got DV test running and it valleyed. That sucks to watch it and think you're going to get a ride then be told it won't open for a good couple weeks...

Millennium Force. it was too windy or something.
It opened later in the day but i could only be there for a few hours

Me too with Deja Vu at SFGAm!. Also a long time ago, I remember going to Kings Island just to ride the Bat. Was there several times while it stood and never rode the darn thing. Oh well the Beast was there!!!!!

Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

Going out to SFA back on the 29th and riding every coaster except Two face,it was down the entire time I was there and everything else was a walk on.

To add insult to injury the park started testing the ride right at closing time, whereas the train was stuck on lift#2 all afternoon.

LoCoSuMo & Hypersonic XLC.

Stuff happens.

Goliath at SFMM after woman had an anerisom, opened the day after I left.
Wicked Twister at CP.

Dragon's Descent-I was all worked up to ride the tallest ride on the East Coast(during 1998) and I got there, that darn 265 foot drop tower wasn't even operating yet. They had just started testing it by the end of the day. Why do parks advertise before the ride is actually open?

Riverside Cyclone(closed for its reprofiling), which was a drat because I wanted to ride that storm one more tiem before Six Flags killed what was the world's greatest drop.

Mad Cobra, would have been my first Premier Spaghetti Bowl, but it was down for the day for some work on the trains.

Skyhawk at PGA, replaced by those darn trampolines in 2001!!!!

How about a Millenniumless MillenniumMania the first week of last year's event. I couldn't change my plans due to vacation time and airline schedule. The one free pass to use on any coaster this year was nice, but doesn't nearly make up for the number of times we missed out on last year.

I did use the pass this year however, while the wait was 90 minutes.

Number of coasters ridden: 225

I wanted to go on the Typoon Sea Coaster at Six Flags America, but it and their other water rides were closed. That really didn't make since because it was in the 90s that day.

I also wanted to go on the Parachute Ride at "Great" Adventure, but that was closed.

My first visit to Kentucky Kingdom. Before it was a SF park. Hellavator was closed for quite some time. Apparently it was hit by lighting and the computer caught on fire. At least that's what we heard. Anyways, we didn't get to ride. Kinda dissapointing, as I had never been on a free fall ride. I was like 14 or 15 then, so it was a pretty big trip.....my friends dad took us.
