Ricochet parts begin to appear at Kings Dominion

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Paramount's Kings Dominion was good enough to send us photos of parts for the new Ricochet, a custom wild mouse from Mack. The ride is scheduled to open in the spring.

Cool! I should try to get out there. Also, those things come in big pieces.
I wonder when carowind's ricochet will show up?

Hopefully soon. Carowinds has already demolished a restaurant, which will be the site for Ricochet.  Just think; if Carowinds had started earlier, we might have had it opened by now. Wild Mouses can't take too long  to construct...

Also, will Carowinds have a custom one?

Nope, unfortunately Carowinds will get a standard Mack mouse. Here is a photo of the site that it will be located: http://www.starcoasters.com/parkgalleries/carowinds/2002carowinds4.JPG

How custom is this ride if it's a identical version of the one at PCW? I don't really care, but...
anyone know what the ride will look like when finished?
Both Richochets are exactly the same.  They are not really custom because there two other Mack wild mouses with the same layout (The Fly and Technic Coaster).  Where did you here that Carrowinds will get a standard?  Even the article Paramount Carrowinds put out described it with words such as 'unique', '50 foot drop', 'customly made from', 'and unlike other wild mouses...'.
Oh, and if Richochet at Carrowinds is a remake of The Fly, then how could it be standard?!!
I'm glad Carowinds is getting a coaster next year, but I was hoping for something BIGGER, like a hyper. What do you think they'll get for 2003?

I've got laser eyes, and I know what you're thinking. It comes to no surprise, the Christmas lights are blinking.

supposedly carowinds is supposed to get a woodie for 2003. (this is a rumor, don't quote me on it)

Carowinds has not put out an article yet (you probably read the PKD one), as there is no official press release on the ride yet. This information comes from Paramount public relations. Also, the space cleared is not large enough to support the larger model. Carowinds was PLANNING for a hyper for next year, however due to time and money (which I can understand) the plans were scrapped. If you want to shoot that down and say I know nothing, go ahead, but its the facts.

Didn't PGA get an Arrow wild mouse?  Was Paramount unhappy with Arrow, or are they just trying to give more "selection" at their other parks?

Yet another coaster-craving yuppie
Carowinds version WILL be a custom design because they don't have as much room as PKD does. The turns will be tighter making it kinda sqwished up and therefore making it a "wilder" ride. By the way, what restaurant was demolished to make way for this thing and exactly where is the new Carolina Boardwalk section going to go?

What? Wild mice don't exactly monopolize acres and acres of space to begin with. We'll wait for the Carowinds announcement, thanks.

Well, personally I dont think he said they did, It all depends on how much space Carowinds has for it in the area they want to put it to begin with, lol.
