A new wild mouse called "Ricochet" is confirmed for Paramount's Carowinds.

Check the snaps and discussion at Xtreme Paramount Parks.

Cool, maybe I might be able to get out there next year.
Does anyone know what other ride carowinds will be getting next year?

I was really hoping for a big attraction for 2002 like all the rumors were pointing to. Maybe in 2003 we'll get that big coaster that carowinds needs.

Im thinking a hyper thrust air for 2003.

Im not that impressed with wild mouse coasters. Once youve ridden one, youve ridden them all. Just a cheap kiddie coaster with tight turns and painful bunny hops. I guess i shouldnt be complaining however, after all IT IS a new coaster and we all love coasters, no matter what kind/type.
That Carolina Boardwalk sounds like an expansion to me.

Mouse coasters are fun, and it's probably going to be an Arrow mouse like the one at PGA, which I hear is pretty cool.

Another coaster is really sweet, but has anyone out there buying wild mice ever heard of Reverchon? I talked with a ride-op at Wild Adventures in Ga., and he said their park was looking into Reverchon cars for their "Bug-Out" mouse. Spinning cars add immensely to the ride experience (and theming doesn't hurt a bit - Exterminator was the BEST mouse I've ridden, ever.)

I would strongly disagree that all mice are made the same. The out-of-control mouse at Hershey is very different from the placid mouse at Dorney. And Exterminator is very different from both of those two. From the picture it looks like this will be a clone of Psycho Mouse (Arrow) at PGA, which I hear is pretty good.

I've been on the Reverchon spinning mouse (Kennywood), the Mack (BGW) and the Arrow (Michigan's Adventure), and I pretty much like them in that order. I found the Arrow model to be kind of dull, and it had nothing to do with brakes, as they were barely on.

No, Reverchon has the best ride, my friends, and quite frankly there is no contest. There should be a spinning mouse at every park.

Make sure you check out the rest of the pics at http://www.starcoasters.com I submitted the news item but Will's got used with MY pics :P

PS: The mouse is a mack. *** This post was edited by StarCoasters on 7/23/2001. ***
Hey! I didn't submit the news item! At least you got some hits :P. Thanks for letting me use one pic :P.

Jeff and gatorwoodie: DITTO!

Intamin Fan, why do you assume its a clone of Psycho Mouse. PM is an Arrow; Ricochet is a Mack.

If the Hersheypark one is a standard Mack, then that is what we are getting!

And indeed, Carolina Boardwalk is a type of expansion. I think we're getting a couple of flat rides like PGA did for their 2001 expansion. Jonathan (StarCoasters) pointed out that it looks like the Carolina Boardwalk sign is ripping off Disney's California Adventure!

I'll try to contact the exec's about those signs and see if I can at least get another ride listed!

Jeff, I've read a lot of your posts, agree with you sometimes and disagree somtimes, but you are right on target with the mice issue - Reverchon, hands down, no question!

PS - Were you at PKI's CoasterCamp - just wondering...

The reason I thought it was a clone of Psycho Mouse is because of the pictures in the sign, and because it's another Paramount park. Mack doesn't make their supports like that.

The picture actualy looks like the FLY at PCW its an ok ride.
The aupports do look like a mack mouser. The track supports are thin and boxy, while Arrow mad mouse caosters use all tubular steel supports. These pictures are also obviously not for the actually Richoceht coaster, alothough thy may feature the same layout.

Heh! That is The Fly in those pictures... If Ricochet is anything like The Fly, I feel sorry for Carowinds, its nothing impressive... :P

Where exactly will the new expansion be at? The only place it could possibly go would be behind Thrill Zone. If they put it anywhere else, the will use up parking spaces.

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
Well, you'd be surprised. You know that two buildings are being torn down to make room. I think the boardwalk is behind the Hurler, not sure though. Would make a nice place for an expansion!
I was at Carowinds on Tuesday and saw the signs for the boardwalk but when i was on Hurler and Drop Zone i didn't really see any construction or that hole that is supposedly there. I just saw a big building being built in the forest. maybe that is for the park but it looked too far back.
I was at Carowinds thursday August 2nd and there are two buildings being built in a clearing, right behind Drop Zone I hope the expansion goes up behind the Carolina Cyclone as well.
