Rhino Rally closed following accident

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Busch Gardens Tampa says that Rhino Rally will remain closed following the roll-over of one of its customized Land Rovers last Tuesday. Records indicate that the ride was inspected and cleared by the state prior to operation.

Well, the people are suing so don't expect it to open in the really near future. I'd say mid-late-July, maybe August. TOGO_Fan
7 MPH and the thing tipped over?? Something ain't right with it.

Pending litigation has nothing to do with when they're going to open the ride.

You don't have to go fast to tip over. There are highly banked turns there. If anything, going faster would prevent the vehicle from tipping!

Sigh... Hear comes some more sueing for a park ride.

This time I think it is warranted though. They professed the ride was safe, and it obviously was not. Regardless of whether or not it was the driver's fault - SOMETHING caused the ride to tip over. I would most likely be inclined to sue also.

Sue for what? Emotional distress? All but two passengers walked away from the ride, while two had "minor injuries." They apparently didn't do anything more than ruin their day, and for that you can bet the park comped them for another day or food or whatever.

I would have been glad to be in the car that tipped over. I would have got a lot of free stuff from the park.
At least they weren't made by Mitsubishi ;);)

Sheesh, that didn't last long. I agree, I probably wouldn't sue, even if I was a person with the "minor injuries." So long as they're willing to pay the medical and apologize, well, accidents happen, even when something is safe!

Unfortunately we live in a highly litigious society where people feel everyone has to pay when something goes wrong.  If it was intentional, then I have no problem.  If people were really hurt, then they should be compensated.  However, people need to stop trying to get something for nothing and just accept the fact that things happen.  Accidents happen.  Society is much safer than it ever was, but things are always going to happen.  There are a small amount of things that are out of our control that lead to accidents.  People are just greedy and want something for nothing.
