Revolution with lighted tunnel?

I always thought this was Revolution (I know, a commercial for SFGAm, filmed at Magic Mountain, Colossus has an American Eagle decal on the train...). Looks like there are some serious lights in that tunnel!?

Yup...when it first opened.

I suppose it's possible. I don't think any of Great America's coasters had a tunnel.

At the time all they had was Wizzer, American Eagle, Demon, Tidle Wave and Z-Force (which would have been new in 1985)

Both "Demon"s at the Marriot's Great America parks had lighted tunnels when they opened and, although I haven't been to the other one, SFGAm's still does although, the lights are on the sides of the tunnels only now. The curving tunnel in that commercial is not a coaster at SFGAm though.

here's a clip from "Roller Coaster" that shows that in 1977, "Revolution"'s tunnel was the same corrugated steel that it is now.

Then what's this coaster:

sure looks like Revolution to me. Moosh says the lights were there when it opened - maybe just for a short time?

Demon's tunnel isn't curved like the one in the TV clip.

Wow...that commercial actually made me want to go to Six Flags. Yay nostalgia.

Notice it wasn't exactly emphasizing "family" fun. But a fun commercial regardless. Colossus with buzzbars...drool. :)

Looks like Revolution to me...but I never rode it with the lights.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

I can't even describe to you how much I miss those commercial jingles from the 80's and 90's.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

You can still watch a Mentos commercial. ;)

The next time someone rides it, pay attention in the tunnel. On the Demon at SFGAm, you can see caps over the holes where the lights used to be on the ceiling of the tunnel. Unless they've replaced all the steel in the tunnel on Revolution, there should be some evidence of where lights used to be if they were, in fact, there at one time.
