From the review:
But the goal in 2015 remains unchanged from 1905: Give park guests a nice place to stay and they'll stay longer, and spend more.
My guess is it will be a smashing success.
With this renovation, Hotel Breakers easily becomes the top family resort in Ohio, and perhaps the best within hundreds of miles in any direction.

What an absolute joy to read this review.
They did an incredible job with Breakers. It feels much more like a true resort now.

Can anyone elaborate on the Lake Erie pollution comments? I thought they had made significant progress in that regard?Last edited by ShaneDenmark, Thursday, May 21, 2015 7:45 PM
But then again, what do I know?
Lake Erie is in pretty good shape, and has been for decades outside of some temporary algae problems.
Presumably the harmful algal blooms in the western part of Lake Erie are what the article was referencing. Have caused drinking water problems for some people. From what I have seen, primary cause is fertilizer runoff from farms.
But overall, cleanup efforts in the Great Lakes have done a great job. Friends I have brought to the lake to sail have been surprised and impressed.
I have stayed at the hotel twice and it was very underwhelming. Truthfully, it was only worth the price due to the convenience. I was really glad when I heard last year that they were finally going to be renovated. I'm positive from what I have seen and heard that it's really top notch now.
