'Return of the Bat'

Believe it or not, but Paramount literally saved that park.

John Peck........Who thinks that Adventure Express' ending is perfect

I think that many of the rides remove from PKI from about 1983 to 1985 actually ended up at Paramount's Australia's Wonderland, which is now Wonderland Sydney. It is just that many of those rides sound identical to rides built at WLS over here, and the park only opened in 1985. Most of the Hanna Barbera Land at WLS is made up of old looking kiddie flat rides. They also have a very old looking Zodiac. There is also a Bayern Kurve plus  many other ride names sound familiar from that list, and were all removed from PKI a few years before the same rides apeared at Wonderland Sydney.

Carowinds is bringing back the theming of their park.  Last year, they totally re-did the entrance which looks a lot nicer and is now Paramount Plaza and has a "Hollywood Backlot" type theme.  In 2002, they are re-doing Blue Ridge Junction into Carolina Boardwalk, and judging by how they re-did the entrance, I think Carolina Boardwalk is going to be very well themed.

Hey Richard, do you at all have a link to that Wonderland park you speak of?
Sounds very interesting.
http://www.wonderland.com.au is their official site. There is also a review at http://www.thrillnetwork.com/article.php?sid=219 for part I and http://www.thrillnetwork.com/article.php?sid=220 for part II.

If you want to see a picture of some of the rides, then http://richardwilson.netfirms.com/images/wonderland.jpg. You can see the Zodiac to the right of the picture.
