Removing Viper from SFoG?

There are many rumors about the Viper coming down. If it does, will it be sold or relocated in the park? Plus they are selling Superman souveniers in the Viper gift shop. Could SFoG also be getting a Superman themed ride in the future??
I've heard this rumor too. Many possibilities I've heard are that the Free Fall will be removed and Viper relocated there. I think there is some sort of contract that SFoG cannot get rid of Viper until 2012. Can anyone confirm this?

Mindbender...Can you hear the Riddler chuckling?
Viper is the subject of the lawsuit. It has a 12 year depreciation schedule. If they were to remove Viper before the time was up the park would take a $6 million expense hit. We know Six Flags Inc. wouldn't allow that to happen. The earliest Viper would get removed would be 2012.

As for the rumors though, I don't see the Superman merchandise as a big deal. Not as big as the survey flags and trees near Viper anyway. Unless Intamin is using the existing terrain for the footprint (which I doubt), hopefully some earth will start to move sometime soon.

But I really want Deva Ju to open first, then'll I'll worry about next year. Hopefully, it is still on schedule to open next Wednesday. Can't go that day though, 4th of July.

Well, SFoG just sank a ton of money into the ride this last fall. I rode it back in April and the ride was running smooth and efficiently. I seriously doubt that it is going anywhere, anytime soon. Plus, it still has very high popularity and the best turnover of most of the rides at the park *** This post was edited by john peck on 6/25/2001. ***
Now what is the chronology of this ride. Wasn't it the Tidal Wave at PGA? Now the Viper? And doesn't PGA now have a Shockwave identical to Viper formerly Tidal Wave? And don't most people at PGA still call their current shuttle looper Tidal Wave? Funny, cause I swore when I was at SFoG I heard someone refer to Viper as Tidal Wave which at first I thought they were referring to the raft drop ride but then realized that was a SFMM name for their river raft ride and... oh now I'm just rambling.
Viper at SFOG was Tidal Wave at SFGAm not PGA. It was removed and relocated to SFOG.
If this superman rumor is true, then would the new coaster be the Intamin Hyper, Impulse, or the LIM launched reverse whoa belly?

3..2..LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea... it's coming back to SFGAM!!!!

I wish :(

Tidal Wave- R.I.P End of 1991.
Why did SFoG have to steal our treasure... :(
To answer hypersonicxlc's question,

At IAAPA last year in Atlanta Intamin had "Impulse Coaster" at Six Flags Over Georgia in their presentation. But the purchase of the 3 Deva Ju's killed that plan. So its more than likely going to be S:ROS. Maybe a custom design, we'll see.

What did they do to it?

If SFOG gets a custom-built flying or hypercoaster, it would become a more respectable and popular park! I hope so!
kcies 13-SFGAm, I'm right with ya! Boy do I miss it, but like John said it is running flawlessly. I was so happy to see it in April.

Mormoc......PGA's Tidal Wave is still there, but repainted and named Greased Lightnin'. It was probably me that you heard at SFOG!!!

"Thanks for riding Tidal Wave and enjoy your day here at Marriott's Great America!"
