Remembering the parks

Knowing how much the off season can kill an enthusiast, I propose these two questions.

1) What do you do to keep your sanity during the off season?

2) What shows/channels/activities remind you of riding a coaster or of a certain park?

1) Browsing forums like these and going to web-site that provide photo-updates on off-season construction :)

2) Passing really tall buildings or structure that look like coaster supports triggers my brain off into you know.

I drive down to Knott's and ride Ghostrider and Xcelerator ;-) Off-season? What off-season?

Mamoosh, wrong answer.

Me, I surf and look at pics and videos of coasters.

I was actually watching Spongebob today and got a bad case of wanting to go to PKI.

Skiing. If there is anything that can give me the rush that riding coasters does, and maybe more, it is skiing. The only time I have experienced an adrenaline rush as large as the first time riding The Beast, or almost coming out of my seat on my first ride on the Elitch Gardens Wildcat, is last weekend when I was dropping 20 feet into a 25-foot wide chute. It is great to have a winter alternative.

I surf sites like this and many others. I also play Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 a little, and I work on my HO scale model amusement park. In the next few 2 or 3 months I'll be adding a Top Spin and a Freefall Tower.
HO scale model amusement park?

I was going to say the same thing as Mamoosh. The greatest tragedy for my "offseason" is that Ghostrider is in rehab right now.

Xcelerator- Put the Pedal to the Metal!

1.) Read these forums or look through coaster books. Sometimes it's necessary to do a winter CP drive by.

2.) Being around where I live reminds of the parks actually because a lot of the roads are hilly and windy. I've been told skiing is great for this time of year. However, I am not the most coordinated gal on the planet and it's a good bet to say I may break every bone in my body!

...Agghh, gimme a break will ya?

Skiing is a good alternative, unless you are told by your doctor that you arent allowed to do anything that will get you sweaty for the next month, and you have a ski trip planned in the next 2 weeks! Darn mono!

Off-season!?! Here in the PNW, we don't get an "on" season, at least until that S&S is open.;)

To pass the time, I meticulously plan out my summer park trips, even though I know that it will all change. Still, it gives me hope, like a light at the end of a long, dark, twisted tunnel. I feel so much better now that I have purchased a RT ticket for a week built around SRM. Now I spend time hunting for the best deals on hotels (continental breakfasts are an absolute must, just to save time. And if they don't have pancakes, I curse them and take a crepe!), who is going to give me the best car rental, etc. I still have 4 months left, but knowing that this dream is now a reality, this time of year is better than last year at this time.

Obsessive? Perhaps.............................
