Regarding the next few weekends at CP

Around this time of year/month, particularly on weekends, a orchestra/band/choir festival takes place in Sandusky, at various schools, afterwards heading into the park. People come from Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, so a reasonable amount of people is in the area. Only date I know for sure is next week saturday, but the amount of students going to the park on those days is quite a large amount, and one would be wise to avoid it.

I've been to CP on these days, the park is dead at night as the buses leave several hours early.

You have a point. We do have to leave about 6-9ish (Well, those who actually use the bus). It's just that I see quite a bit of people complaining of it in the trip reports, so I think it's quite unwise to plan for this time period. Personally, I have season tickets and I ride, so I stay after everyone leaves. It's a damn 3-4 hour drive back to michigan though.

I'm going to Cedar Point in exactly 2 weeks, May 21-23. Do you know if the band competition is over then, or should I be expecting large crowds?

I was hoping that since it was the weekend before memorial day weekend that the park would be empty since most people would be planning to go the following week. I'll just be going during starlight hours on the Saturday, so I should be fine in terms of crowds that night, i'm just more worried about all day sunday.
