Reel Time: memories of the Virginia Reel at Blackpool

It's nearly twenty years ago that the Virginia Reel was dismantled at Blackpool. It had stood for sixty years. In a short article, Gary Radice remembers William Strickler's masterpiece.

I never rode the Reel because I was too young, but I remember seeing it, and hearing people screaming on it. The following year I went back and the Ranger was there. I have photos of the Ranger, but not the Reel.

Incidentally, I remember my dad asking at Guest Services what had happened to the Reel the year after, and they said that it collapsed over the winter.

There are some good pictures of it in a book sold in one of the shops.

i never rode the reel either, I own total bpb and i was wondering if Grant could send me those pics of the Ranger.
