Red Zone execs are named to Six Flags board

Six Flags, Inc. announced today that the results of Red Zone's consent solicitation have been certified by IVS Associates, Inc., the independent inspectors of election, and that all of the proposals that were the subject of the consent solicitation have been adopted. As a result, Messrs. Daniel Snyder, Mark Shapiro and Dwight Schar have become directors of Six Flags, replacing Messrs. Burke, Dannhauser and Shuman, and Red Zone's other proposals, including the amendments to the Company's By-laws, have been adopted.

^ ^ Six Flags AstroWorld is far past the point of no return. Most of the flats are already out and some have arrived at their new homes. Now they're moving on to the big rides. Dungeon Drop is half way down. Unfortunately, SFAW is really gone.
Dan Synder = Kieren Burke with a different face.
Yea, Burke still is the CEO till the Board of Directors, has him step down. The only thing is that there are still 4 original board of directors, I don't know how well of friends they are to Burke but if they are good friends with him it will be very hard to get one of the 4 board of directors to change there mind and vote a new CEO in.
Reminds me of some old dark humor. "The good news is that they're driving Hitler out of Poland. The bad news is that Stalin's at the front of the line."

Frying pan ====> Six Flags =====> Fire

I thought shareholders who have given consent could revoke that any time before December 24?
I'm saving this thread to my hard drive, just in case I get the opportunity to come back in a year or 2 and go "Nya!".

To whom I'll be saing it to, I won't say, be it the Burke followers, or Snyder followers, but in a year, you'll know.

;)

Burke and Snyder have followers?

Excuse me if I take a "sit back and wait" stance on this. I don't care who has control of the company, until I see some results or at least an outline of what is planned to turn things around *inside* the remaining parks, I don't plan on doing any celebrating, gloating or expressing sighs of relief.

Don't underestimate the influence a new group of people can have on a company. Sports teams, especially in the NFL, do it all the time.

If you have a losing team, the coach is usually the first to go. It doesn't matter if that coach has a great career record or even brought the team to the Superbowl three years ago- if the team isn't winning this year, he runs the risk of losing his job. Same goes for the majority of his coaching staff.

Coaches are replaced by coaches that may not look or sound any better, and very often, successful coaches are replaced by less successful coaches, but sometimes a change in mentality starting from the very top is all that is necessary to get things back on track.

That hasn't been working in Cleveland for, oh, about 20 years. :)
^ LOL
^^ Yeah but there was no team at all for a few of those 20 years!

I thought that Crennel would work out well there, although I know you need to give a coach at least two years to make any kind of tangible difference. We'll know if the Giants' coach is doing any good during the next month or so!

^^^^ So if that's true, the Detroit Lions are playoff bound for sure.

One thing that is true though, replace one clueless bunch with another, it might appear that you're moving forward, but it's usually just in a circle and you end up in the same place.
