Recording RCT3 As A Video...

A number of months ago, someone posted a link to a video recorded on RCT called Fantasmic, which is basically I think the Anastasia show from Disney parks.

Basically, it's a fireworks & show that was incorporated into a long ride... and then recorded & posted on-line.

I recently created a pretty sweet laser/fireworks show that's set to a cool winter/chrismas song. It came out exactly how I wanted & syncronized perfectly... and I'd love to horde it out in general... but it looks best when viewed at certain angles which is why I wanted to record it as a video instead of using it as just the game-save.

My question: Is there any way to record RCT3 as a video, either as a view from a ride or just in gameplay mode? I don't think RCT3 comes w/ that feature, so is there any sofware out that that does it?

I believe F11 is the key to begin recording video.
If your machine can't handle this, you always could grab the video output over an Svideo cable and route to VCR / DVD recorder.

I believe it was explained on that thread!
Many ways to do this, depends on whether you just want the vid or the sound too, or a little of both, my guess is check out the forum listed above. 1. (ctrl+shift+f11)can record video with no sound in gameplay and coaster cam 2. read the forum above on the advanced video editor...which is still only video but better angles. 3. upload to a cam by a dvi/s-video out to a camcorder and uplink it back via software or windows movie makmer in XP. (that last one can give you sound, quality, and video along with a song to go with it when you create the video). All your choice...hope it all helps.

Yea... I definately want sound with it, otherwise it kind of makes the fireworks/laser show useless.

So I guess I'd have to goto choice #3, although I don't have no cam or anything, so I think I might be SOL on that unless there's other alternatives to record video & sound... hmmm unless... unless I just add in the song afterwards. I just lose the sound effects of the firework explosions from the game itself.

It's too bad there's no easy to get both vid & sound without having other external hardware. I can get the sofware, but hardware is a little harder to come by.

The only cheaper method I could think of is VCR and tv capture card (PCI) for your computer...hook it up to the vcr then have it come back in your tv card and capture what you record....tv card is about anywhere from $30 and up, and VCR's are rather cheap.... It may not be as good of quality, but it could just work...or just revert back to method 1 or 2. I just use 1 or 2 right now.
