Record-Breaking Coasters

I've found that every coaster that holds some major record that I've ridden has been a great ride. Millenium Force is currently the tallest coaster on the continent, and fastest, and it's also my favorite. When I rode Raptor it had the most inversions of any coaster and it is also one of my favorites. I want to know if there are any major record-breaking rides,(tallest, fastest, most inversions) that you didn't like, because i sure can't find one.
How did Raptor ever have the most inversions for any coaster? Shockwave at SFGAm and Viper at SFMM both have 7 and they were built before raptor.

Record-breaking ride that I didn't like?  Hmmmm...howzabout Viper at SFGAdv?  First standard coaster with a heartline roll.  SUCKS!

Oh, sorry about that. I did mean the most on an inverted coaster. :-)
Does that mean current record holders? Shockwave at SFGAm was a record holder and I know plenty of people who hate it.
There are a *large number* of record breakers and former record breakers that are far from top tier IMO. A short list:

*SOB @ PKI (tallest wood, current) - one of the most hyped coasters around turns out to be a huge dud IMO. An uninspired layout and no real forces.

*Mean Streak @ CP (ex tallest wood) - used to be good, *when it ran fast*, those days are long gone now as it hobbles through the course screeching the entire way.

*American Eagle @ SFGAm (ex tallest wood) - yet another former record breaker that operates like a shadow of it's former self. No air, no laterals and incredibly cramped cars. Far outshined by the much smaller Viper just down the way.

*Shockwave @ SFGAm (ex most inversions) - I guess this isn't quite fair to bring up since I usually find inversions boring but this ride has never done much of anything for me and the way it runs now it simply atrocious. Ear banging agony.

Windjammer Surf Racers was the first full circuit dual-track/twin roller coaster with inversions. And it was in no way a good ride to those who have ridden it. I found it fun, but not a top 30 ride at all.
A few corrections for you.

1. Shockwave NEVER held the inversion record. Gourdrix opended almost a month earlier.

2. Windjammer was NOT the first twin track coaster with inversions. That honor goes to Leathal Weapon at WBMW

Wrong. Shockwave opened in 1988. Gourdrix opened in 1989. Both have 7 inversions. Shockwave did hold the record as tallest and fastest steel coaster with the most inversions when it debuted.

Millenium Force and Magnum were record breakers when they came out.  So was Mean Streak which is the only one I really really enjoyed and didn't think it was over rated like the other two.  Now it's a little different story but I still enjoy it.

Wasn't Gemini at CP a record holder when built?  I still LOVE the ride and take a few spins on our annual pilgrimage.  Enormous throughput, good air, smooth ride, nice forces...and the Gemini hand-smacking!  The only coaster other than KW Racer that I know of where you can do that...

Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
Viper (tallest loop)

That ride can be frustrating

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the place to be for top notch thrills in 2002! X is the ultimate thrill machine!

Yeah, Gemini was the tallest for a short period before the American Eagle was built a year later. I still don't understand why the Eagle has the huge blockers installed to prevent hand slapping as I've *never* heard of any probs at CP or KW with it.

Superman: The Escape at SFMM Tallest coaster in the world and it can be a bit disapointing at times.

How about the longest Rollercoaster: The one in England.  Has anyone ever rode that???  If so was it good??

Two of the absolute worst roller coasters I've ever been on were, at one point, record breakers (SFGAm Shockwave and Magnum) and one still is (Son of Beast).  If they were removed from their respective parks, I'd love to take a trip out to each and help out...pieces of junk, IMO.

You mean The Ultimate in Lightwater Valley?  Umm, that isn't the longest anymore, my friend.  Steel Dragon 2000 holds that record now.
Anyway, I've heard good and bad reviews about this ride.  The lifts on it are 1 mph, so they are sloooooooow as hell!  But, I've heard nothing but rave review about the second half of the ride.  It opened with OTS restraints (why, I don't know) but those were replaced with laps.
