Universal Orlando will temporarily shut down its Fear Factor Live show and reduce hours at some other attractions across its two-park resort in further cost-cutting steps forced by the nation's troubled economy.

What do you think this will do to the people in these positions. I was thinking that universal has at least 2
actors for most show positions With reduced shows
will they stay. What would you do if your boss cut you back in hours ? I know that finding a new job now would be hard with this economy .Will they find other venues for them (walking characters maybe)

I think they''d more likely end up working food kiosks, acting out McDonalds scripting: "Would you like fires with that?"

I worked a job about 20 years or so ago that reduced out hours from 40 to 32 a week. We were in a Union (i don't like those) and they did that to prevent layoffs, which after a month, they wound up doing anyway. That was not an easy time to get thru. We were Teamsters, and we made a massive 8-9 an hour when auto workers were making 20 an hour.

\/-LOL, i didn't even catch that.

I would love it if I could get a fire with my burger! ;)

Most working actors and musicians could easily go back to their plan-b job, like the retail store or fast food...
