Happened to notice this video this morning. Warning: It has everything you love about YouTube, including gratuitous wipes and "OMG SUBSCRIBE!!!1!" popups.

I never understood how lakeside property can just sit there and rot.

That amusement park in Chernobyl looks like it is currently in better condition.

It's a quiet, sleepy place not really near anywhere. It's still bordered by "vacation homes" from the 50's and 60's that are total shanties. It's really not a place you want to live.
