The park was open from 6pm - 11pm tonight. This was not advertised anywhere! The only reason I knew was because a friend had told me.
So we were at the park from opening til close and managed to hit:
8 SUF
8 Deja Vu
6 Cyclone
5 Acrophobia
4 Scream Machine
6 Batman The Ride
5 Scorcher
Total of 42 rides on the night. The thing that absolutely boggled my mind was that *every* *single* *ride* was open. Sure, you'll notice the lack of Mindbender on the list above because it shut down at about 9pm due to something being in the way of the track (tree branch). Even the damn skybuckets were open! I mean EVERYTHING was! Thunder River was open! ....Actually I never saw the train run or Splashwater Falls, but this is more rides than is usually open in the summer. Almost every food stand was open, as was every game and merchandise store. I swear the employees outnumbered the guests!
Everything was running in typical kick-ass mode. That's one thing about SFoG's coasters -- they are usually the same great ride, you'll never get much variation.
That's about it...basically I wanted to say if you'd like to ride SFoG's coaster collection without any sort of wait whatsoever, try to hit one of these Fridays (WHY aren't they advertised?!). Next Fri, Sept 6, it's open 6pm - 11pm again. I think I'll go again. :)
Joe, who can't believe he got to *stay on* Deja Vu front row three times in a row...

Wow, that sounds like one awesome time at SFoG!
I certainly think you should thank that friend of yours that notified you of the park's new opening time!
Lol, no? What do the good people of coasterbuzz think?

Gee let me guess Chris, you were the one who told Joe. What a nice guy.
Sounds like a great time, too bad I can't hop on a plane and go down next weekend :(
I noticed somewhat the same thing on my recent SFA trip this past thursday(see my TR for more) all the coasters except Two face were up & running with just a few flats closed, even the water rides were open for business,Typhoon seacoaster,Renegade rapids and Shipwreck falls were operating, however why would anyone want to ride a wet ride when it was overcast & cool in the upper 60's all day.
So it looks like SFOG much like SFA had been running most major rides fairly well, which is something rarly seen in either one of these two parks, well at least at SFA,having never been to SFOG I can't say for sure.
Park employees tell me that total park attendance was about 500, for the entire night. I *was* going to go 8-30 (conflict), but I'll DEFINITELY go this Friday!!! I did hear one short commercial for the "Bonus Days" on the radio that morning, and SFOG just sent out e-mails advertising this Friday, 10/31, and 11/01 Bonus days. The park is also open 11/03, for Season Pass Holders only (everything 1/2 price). None of these dates are on the official website.
Sean, who has yet to ride Deja Vu front seat, but will this Friday, unless attendance multiplies by a factor of 20 from last week.

My two favorite coasters are both named Superman.
Nitro, Gemini, Laser, Ice, Thunder...The American Gladiators!

Too bad you couldn't make it, Sean. We'll (Kevin, Kyle, Chris, and myself) will be there again this Fri from 6pm - 11pm again.
We're actually going to go for 100 rides for the night! If you're up for that, we'll see ya there.
btw, Deja Vu front middle is easily the best on the train.
